Receptor 2 SSD fan question

Do I really need the fan in my Receptor 2 SSD?? Being there's no moving parts, I don't see why it's necessary. None of my hardware modules (Motif Rack, Fantom XR Rack) need one. Sure would be nice to NOT have the fan noise, although it's not super loud.......just annoying. Anyone??

The fans are actually in there to cool the Processor. We use desktop grade processors in Receptor, and a lot of them can get quite hot. It aids stability to keep things cool, and extends the life of the machine.
