If i'm not mistaken, the surround mode seems to process all channels in the same way.
I guess this has probably already been discussed, but since MXXX has a lot of routing possibilities, it could have more inputs and outputs available in the grid :
- 3 inputs + side chain at the top of the grid
- and 4 outputs at the bottom of the grid.
This way, several send/returns could be routed to one VST instance of MXxx, and Mxxx could process up to 4 stereo channels differently with different processors on each channel.
Is this something that could be implemented in the future ?

Well, technically this could be useful, but unfortunately it is basically unusable. Most people don't know how to setup a side-chain, so implemention multiin/multiout is simply impossible. Most hosts don't even support it, so at the moment it is a "no" as it would be just a "scientific" feature and would complicate lifes of most people.

Ok I understand your point.
I hope people wont be driven away by the technical side to MXXX, it takes a little time to get the hang of it but afterwards it's very rewarding.

After some more use of MXXX in reaper and Usine, if you don't do the 4 inputs / 4 ouputs thing, maybe you can add one ouput ?
Inputs : normal input + side chain input
Ouputs : normal output + side chain output or whatever you wan to call it.
This would be a life saver in certain situations when you want to separate the wet signal from the dry signal for example.
You could also use MXXX to do some routing (for example if you have the normal in/ normal out on a channel insert and the side chain in, side chain out on the master insert, you can use MXXX to easily move an effect from one channel insert to the master for example).

Well, it's the same thing - most hosts are not able to deal with multiout effects and those who are are not really friendly (e.g. Reaper).
