I sometimes use more than one instrument/patch on a single part, it can give an element of depth and interest that is sometimes not possible with a single instrument. What would be incredibly useful would be to be able to slave filter cutoffs and other usual automation targets to each other so these instruments could sit together more closely.

WOW talk about a coincidence.. i've just bought Zebra and been dreaming about this feature on the last few days
don't know if it's doable but it would be seriously amazing. I have been creating huge and fat powerful sounds using different instances as separate layers/components, a bit of detuning/pan here or there, modulation, diferent filters, distortion, -1 octave layering etc this feature would be incredibly handy. I'm not sure, but i think REAPER can do this using parameter linking.. gotta try it out.

Couldn't this be achieved by sending both isntances the same controller data and having similar modulation setups? Perhaps basing one part off of the other by saving, loading and editing it? Then you can do stuff like offset the cutoffs that you couldn't do with a slaving scheme.

NI Kore 2 can do this easily. For my MFM2 template I created a super knob that linked multiple params at once - you can define degree of modulation, reverse polarity etc as well with it and do this between multiple instruments creating a super instrument.iamyourfather wrote:I sometimes use more than one instrument/patch on a single part, it can give an element of depth and interest that is sometimes not possible with a single instrument. I suspect Mulab's new modular features and MUX could also do this sort of thing.

aMused, Sendy, yeah I think perhaps looking towards my DAW for a solution may be a better idea first, reaper has a couple of things I could try and maybe even linking 3 cutoffs to the same midi controller might work as (I think) you were suggesting, need to give that a try as it would seem quite an obvious solution.
