Hello; from my understanding, the mac version of zebra is only 64-bit when it is used as an AU. When will a 64-bit VST version be created? I use cubase on Mac OSX, so I am forced to use the 32-bit version apparently.
I'm looking forward to responses. Thanks.

Apparantly 64bit VST3 is in the works, which should be good for Cubase.
No VST2 though.
No VST2 though.

We're beta testing VST3 internally. There's quite a bit of unforeseen trouble with it, e.g. because of its exotic Midi handling and screen resize issues (making it easier has made it more complicated for us, among other things). Unlike VST2 it lends itself to 64 bit processing on Mac, and that works very well.

Well, it sounds good to me.
How is the MIDI-handling exotic though, might I ask?

We don't get raw Midi events, we can only tell the host to control parameters by Midi. To make use of our recently revamped Midi handling we need to report 128 x 16 = 2048 parameters to the host, one for each Control Change on each Midi channel. It's a bit of an awkward move to do that for a plugin with, say, 8 parameters, for the sake of a unified code base.synchronizer wrote:Well, it sounds good to me.

Other plugin formats give us a nice raw stream of Midi events, and we can handle it any way we want.
I can see how this was meant to be a convenience, but it spoils our really great ideas for workflow enhancements that we've started to implement.

Hm, I don't see how that' helpful in general. Very interesting.
Well then, I wish you luck! I'm sure that Zebra will continue to be great!
Oh, and thanks for creating Zebralette. I must admit that I do not yet have Zebra 2 (I'm enjoying the demo), so Zebralette is very useful to me at the time being. Will that be in VST 3 format as well in the future?
