No. It sounds good so far but I still get that "amp sim fizz" and can't test it with recabinet since the cabs are always on. Still, sounds good so far......not 199 bucks good so far........but it sounds good.

I'll have mo' details soon (I'm sure people are waiting with baited breath  :P )

And I wish there was an AMP disable so I can try it with S-Gear.
(the CAB section is the best part of this plug)

There will be BYPASS switches on the upcoming PRO version.
Completely sucks.... to pay more in order to be able to bypass something!

:x :x
Oh, great a PRO version costing way more. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, now I'm tempted to just uninstall..........not like I'm unhappy with what I have

Where did we hear that one before?
Oh yeah, when the last "AmpliTube killer" came out. What was that one called again? Or was it the one before that? Or the one before that? Or the one before that?

Kinda funny, the gain and the volume go to 11.

That would be S-Gear. Sounds every bit as good to me. Some people would argue better.

I dunno. But 199 is plenty. Would have to be at least 299, that's more than it's worth.

except there is not enough gain.

Sure, zerocrossing, that must be why you're still looking for your fabled AmpliTube killer! :hihi:

I swear I've had this conversation every 6 months for the past 5 years, long before I even worked at IK.

It's shocking!

I use GR5 but with recabient as my main squeeze. Not noisy, not fizzy, not phasy. Admittedly not "perfect" yet but doable. I'll go to jet city with recabinet when in need for shape-shifter or moller.

I suffer from placebo big time, but not as much as I used to.

Oh, I'm not looking for anything, just musing. I've already had my funeral for Amplitube. The coffin was really expensive, but it was a moving service. :clown:

Maybe people are looking for something better because they're not happy with what they have...

True, there are always those people who will never be satisfied with what they have, whatever it is. It doesn't take long around these parts to figure that one out. There's even a term for it - GAS. However, AmpliTube has, let's say, more than a few very happy users. ;)

But the good news with AmpliTube is you can satisfy your gear lust in the Custom Shop. So people looking for "the next big thing" can find it with AmpliTube Slash.

@topic

It's just not anything that I don't have so far. I can get blistering leads with less noise with the GR/recabinet setup btw and it's far less "amp simmy" sounding with more natural mids.

On, don't you worry your little self. I'm still a happy Amplitube user. Call my recent purchase GAS, that's at least partially right. :hihi: but I've been yearning for that Brian May tone now for many years and nothing in the software world comes close. Not Amplitube, s-gear... Nothing. I've tried them all.

Now I finally have it. It doesn't render all the good sounds I've gotten from software invalid, but it does fill a gap. I'm sure software will totally get there one day, but not yet.
