out of all those "Possiblies" we expect two or three to happen, depending on wherever Murphys law throws an obstacle our way

Yes please!!! Sometimes it takes a while to force Zebra act more digital. I know, analog is better, agreed, but here, in Czech Republic, while back during communism, movie soundtracks were done exclusively on old analog synths. Becouse majority of those movies were crap includig those soundtracks, sounding like it is considered as not cool at all. So I'm big fan of "digital synth made by Urs" idea!

Urs mentioned in another thread (or was it this one?) that Zebra may get very basic sample support. I'm still no fan of that idea. Sample support is like turning off friendly fire in video games....no matter how good you are you WILL start to play sloppy. Sample support often turns even the most amazing sound designers into "let's import this and that sample and call it a preset" guys.

We have some of the most amazing sound designers/synth nerds in the U-He community, it's one of the things I like the most about U-He products.
In other company forums the discussions barely go beyond "How to make superwobblesawpluck? I heard *insert random famous artist of the week here" uses synth XY for it.".

However, I think the support for basic transient samples would be a really nice feature for the digital synth instead (D-50-ish)!

Another thing: Please don't start to slam the latest filters into everything. FilterscapeVA sounds awesome exactly as it is now. Does it really need new filters? I know it's probably a good idea from a marketing point of view but I never had the feeling that that kind of thing influences U-He products much.
Imo the Diva filters sound great but not "better" than the Filterscape filters for example, just different. They sound analog! But is analog always the best thing? It's a perfect thing for Diva but I don't think every synth needs to sound analog. Loads of cool sounds were done on digital synths....these don't suddenly become bad because we now have the possibility to emulate analog filters rather accurately.

I didn't like the idea of an accurate analog emulation either but Diva is just beyond amazing and I'm sure all your upcomming products will be amazing too
I'm just tired of all the analog is good, digital is bad, everything which doesn't have the latest tech sounds bad now, everything was better 30 years ago, blah blah blah stuff on teh intertubes.

If I understood correctly, Zebra won't get sample playback but only sample import to use samples as waveforms. And this is really good idea (especially if resolution will be higher than 128 samples per waveform) - no more wav2zebra and other blueberry things.

That would be really cool! It's a bit complicated at the moment. Better wave import/editing would be a very welcome feature
I just wouldn't really like full sample import. I really like to mangle samples but I have other tools for that (Mainly Reaktor and Absynth).

Don't worry. No sample playback per se (Since many "samplers" are mere playback devices that just dump wav files into audio tracks I now call those "dumplers")

There's a whole concept evolving around ideas of how waveform data is managed within Zebra. If all goes well we'll have plenty of methods to transform and share wave data among and between various kinds of modules. A key aspect therein is the rewrite of the editors with easier handling and more level of control.

I can't speak about any preset library just yet, simply because we haven't put much thought into that. The nature of Zebra's osillators (e.g. waveforms are stored with preset) prevents us from offering 3rd party libraries like Galbanum. We would have to have them "built-in", but then they wouldn't be editable and possibly not be suited for the normal oscillators with their OscFX.

Otoh being able to import Zebra2 waveforms might already do the trick...
