Midi editor silent?

Why is the midi editor (piano roll) silent when in edit mode? It makes it very hard to edit notes when I can't hear where I'm placing them. Usually in hosts when you are editing notes (for instrument plugins) the plugin plays when you are "grabbing" the note so you know how it is being changed by the edit. Is there a way to make MuLab do this?
Also I can't seem to draw anything other than straight lines in the osc editor - is it possible to draw freehand and curved lines too?

To not interfere with the music.aMUSEd wrote:Why is the midi editor (piano roll) silent when in edit mode?
You can play the piano keyboard at the left or use [Alt]+click to monitor notes. It makes it very hard to edit notes when I can't hear where I'm placing them. Not yet. But you can load/save AIFF and WAV files there so if you have some tool that can do it, you can use that one and reload the waveform file. Also I can't seem to draw anything other than straight lines in the osc editor - is it possible to draw freehand and curved lines too?

Yes I can do that but it doesn't help in positioning notes precisely by ear, I'd prefer to be able to hear while I am moving the notemutools wrote:To not interfere with the music.aMUSEd wrote:Why is the midi editor (piano roll) silent when in edit mode?

If you could just make it so when I press alt to audition a note you can do it while being moved that would do

Currently [Alt] is already taken in that case.
Anyway, what i don't understand is that you start moving a note but you don't know yet where to place it? Isn't that strange? Please don't take my question as negative, i just try to understand your workflow.

Well, speaking for myself, sometimes I'll hear a better note choice in my head when playing back something I've recorded. In this case, if you're like me and don't have perfect pitch, dragging a note to the note pitch you want is a much faster way to find it than clicking notes on the piano roll and then dragging it once you've found the one you're after.mutools wrote:Currently [Alt] is already taken in that case.

Because I generally use a midi editor to clean up if my playing has not been 100% or make small changes to note positions and do it by ear - I can't see how it would work doing it visuallymutools wrote:Currently [Alt] is already taken in that case.

I've added a note on the wishlist. Can't promise anything on short term yet though, sorry for that.
