Sure, I've been thinking about that too. The information can even be extracted automatically from the patch itself. Maybe.
Nice! That would be even better :)

Yeah, I know
This was just one of those "I need to write that down before I forget it" requests :hihi:

How about a simple (on/off) soft clip for Diva?

Would be useful for patches that eg have very fast attack transients and so exhibit wide variations in amplitude from one note to the next.

If it were modelled on tape saturation, or similar, it would fit with the vintage analogue theme.

Any form of distortion is moved into projects that pile up on Sascha's desk.

The quesion thus isn't "if", it's only "when".

Fair enough. Wait and see...

Great!!!

a forum improvement suggestion :
a "showcase" sticky thread where members can post sound examples of what they are achieving with u-he software .
when members post a sound example they must state which U-he software was used and for which sounds.
that's all.

i had to go back to january to find any such similar thread....and to be honest i didn't feel like the sound example i wanted to post warranted a new thread.

Suggestion for Diva:

Since the 2 effect slots are routed in serial a simple "swap" button or option would be cool to exchange the effect's settings.

In some cases it makes a less of a difference than in others but the point is that it's annoying to keep reprogramming settings from the 2nd to the 1st slot and vice-verso.

I've got a couple requests for Zebra 3 if you're taking them

To start out, a tooltip system would be fantastic. One of the reasons why I love FabFilter plugins is because of the extensive tooltips, where they explain both the name and function of a control in plain English. While most softsynths don't really need them, Zebra has a number of functions that may not be self-explanatory at a glance (such as some of the buttons on the Osc module and the XMF's filter modes). Given the number of new things that are coming in Zebra 3, including tooltips could help reduce the learning curve for veterans and newcomers alike. Sure it's all there in the manual, but if you only want to know what a single knob does then tooltips are far more convenient.

This next one is a bit more specific to certain users. On Apple's unibody line of MacBook Pros, they decided to make the trackpad's button part of the trackpad itself, which can lead to accidental cursor movement upon releasing a click. In Zebra 2, this means that most of the time when I'm done moving a knob it slips and jumps up or down a value (which can be irritating when I'm setting very specific values with shift). It would be great if the knobs were less sensitive to such movements somehow.

Meanwhile I'm absolutely loving Zebra 2 and I can't wait for the update (my wallet is prepared), so thank you greatly for giving us such a wonderful product.

And an unrelated suggestion - I'd like to see the option to expand, eg, an osc module so that I can simultaneously edit all of the available parameters rather than having to constantly swap between tabs.

And an oscilloscope for each osc

And this......and that......and this........:hihi:

Not sure if this has been requested for Diva as yet but I'd love to see individual voice panning available within the trimmers page or suchlike - similar to the voice panning available on Oberheim synths and the mighty Yamaha CS-80. I personally think so much of the personality of those synths is due to their ability to provide individual tuning/panning allocation on a per-voice basis. So very different in character to even the best ensemble/chorus processing and when used in combination - epic!

Diva already has a more generalized version of that - select "VoiceMap" as pan modulator and adjust the "Voice Map Modulator" knobs.

That + also a bit unrelated: Zebra should auto-select the osc tab after the corresponding osc module was clicked!

Fantastic. I love it when something new is pointed out to me on something I already know and love!

Just so I'm understanding this correctly. You select VoiceMap as the modulator on the Pan Mod knob (on the main tab) and then the VoiceMap knobs on the trimmers tab will provide per-voice panning. Very cool... And then the really clever bit is that the VoiceMap is itself modulatable from multiple sources. Think I'm going to have a whole heap of fun with this. :)
