The Beat edition of Dune is exactly like the full version but without the effects. I always replace synth effects with external ones. That means there is basically no difference between the full version of Dune and the Beat edition for me :)

Cheers

I was not aware it was that damned full, Bloody hell I am going to get my hands on a more recent issue of Beat mag Dennis, Thanks for the information :tu:

It seems then that the OP can have both without any compromise, Richard although I have not spoken with Him myself, Having seen His posts here, What a sound guy. Have not checked what the CM version is lacking feature wise but either way I personally do not mind one bit as these are simply additional top draw pieces of software that I could not afford/justify for My personal needs however having them in whatever form gives Me so much to explore that I just would not do. I think each magazine works out around the same price wise (regular price of CM from my newsagent is £6.25. The DVD is not really so easy to put a price/value on but I would probably pay £50 if not more simply for all the greatness, All samples in .SFZ format work off the bat with the magware version of Camel Audio's Alchemey! add some Camel CMFuzz by the same top bunch of People as a real 'goto' dirt/beef/OTT compression, URS's u-he ZebraCM!...Ah I could go on and on)

Plus in the OP's case just alot more really good pieces of audio software as a pure bonus, Random examples of recent bits from CM I have been immensely happy with include; Dmitry Sches DiversionFX CM, So that after Beat's edition of Dune would be killer, DDMF's CM EQ Pack plus ColourEQ set free! Docudead's a dude and a half, Loomer Cumulus, AudioRealism ADM CM, Cableguys CurveCM and both the Intelligent Devices effects, All another bunch of top bloke's for their generosity). Can't wait to get Me some fresh Beat  Then there are the one of diamonds that come along, I was lucky to grab Overloud's TH CM, FXpansion's GURU and Geist CM, Cakewalk/rgc:audio Z3TA+ amongst many others, Again just would not know where to begin attempting to value such stuff and I won't either, Samples are mostly real useful when not covering a specific style or genre but still for the price...etc. A combination that can not be Beat

Is the Beat version of Dune available in x64 or only x32?

Without any hesitation I would say DUNE. It is in fact more used than Sylenth for me.

Reasons:

1) It sounds extremely good, even though it has a couple of weaknesses.
2) I prefer it's filters and distortion, not saying they are "better" but I prefer them
3) It does so much more and therefore I get much more musical inspiration from it
4) I find it easier to program. It's just works for me.

Voted for DUNE because I have the CM edition. I don't have Sylenth ...

Personally I prefer Dune....much, much more versatile and has a larger feature set.

The CM one is minus effects, and has one page of modulation slots instead of 2, AFAIR.

I tested Dune now (i testged Sylenth 1 earlier) some features (digital waveforms and triangle i think even later one cannot found in Sylenth 1 i remember correctly) says Dune and maybe presets. To me both are one of best synths but when you want only single ansver i must say dune. and i like it gui bit more.
ps. is this Dune CM available for Intel Mac and Audioiunit ? if so i maybe buy magazine someday... becouse now search budget solutions make music...

Both Synths are perfect for the job
