In Mulab you can have as many key editorwindows open as tracks

I like to see also ( i see this also in Cubase 6.5 ) ONE keyeditor window with the parts in it.
In my Cubase example i can toggle in the keyeditor window between the tracks
As example : i do have 2 tracks with a part.. one of the parts is active ( higlighted ) and the other part is grayed out ( not active )

I can also select this greyed out part and the active part gets now greyed out and the greyed out part becomes active (highlighted)

This feature seems to me handy for counterpart writing

another organizational request? managing windows better? what a great idea!

Perhaps a tabbed keyeditor window? These little things help the workflow...

+1 :tu:
A feature like that would be also great for a better aligned editing of automation tracks in conjunction with note tracks.
The "copy zoom" function is a good workaround, but it comes along with a bit to much window pushing. So everything that doesn't disturb the musical workflow is welcome.

How about adding a button/s to change view from keyeditor to other views like the mux with tabs or the micro-editor with tabs? Is that practical?

Post

a button? oh no no no! you have touched upon a faux pas my friend.

Whoops! Aren't buttons aloud?

aloud :hihi:

To have the 2 parts together in the keyeditor it makes it possible to do counterpoint more easy ( 2 melodic lines and their possible interaction with eachother)
Nice thread here, it is fun :)

just select multiple parts, open them both at the same time, select part in the colour selector and you will see all midi as if its in 1 channel from any amount of tracks.

Everyone seems to understand - except me. But it sounds promising. Please can you explain this a bit more?

EDIT: Oh, I see, "soundmagus" didn't post an existing solution but feature request.

Yes this feature request has already been discussed here earlier. I agree it would be nice. It's on the wishlist. It's a rather big job i think. Maybe i'll research it during the M5 development stage, that's to be further defined in balance with the many other requests.
