The Diva filter is the best-sounding software filter I've ever heard in my life. Does anyone know if U-he will be adding a feature to Diva that will allow us to tap that beautiful circuit for our other tracks? Perhaps through a sidechain or a separate plugin like Zebrify? Thanks.

Implementing an input is planned for when VST3 version finally works.

We currently can't get any VST3 host on Windows to recognise it :-x

(we'll also add proper input handling to VST2, but that'll hardly be supported by many hosts...)

Urs,

Thanks for the lightning-fast reply. Will it only be for the VST version? I'm just asking because I currently use it in Logic. Did you mean VST and Audio Units? Thanks!

AU will have it too. Only VST2 doesn't officially support external inputs for instruments. Only few hosts support it.

Zebra 1.0 had audio inputs, but it was AU only.

...But I thought you once said that the Diva filter is coming to Zebra/Zebrify eventually? (Or is that for the upcoming Z3?)

Will the audio input be more CPU intensive? I remember hearing someone say a filter fed by an oscillator is easier to predict and hence you can take shortcuts, whereas an audio input would have to react instantly to whatever you throw at it. Seems like a really interesting point, actually, and something a typical enduser would never think of... but I can't remember if it's actually true, or who said it.

We'll use the technology, but we won't just copy the filters :)
