have you looked in the folder at those samples (they are TwO)? When I bought B4 (the first B4) back in the day I bought those tonewheels as an add on. So you see B4 is not as you claim sampled, slice it any way you like it dude you're simply misread the info.
Here, I'll just paste the quote again from Thomas @ NI:
"I just wanted to point out that B4 and Vintage Organs are technically much closer than many of you might think, because both draw on individual tonewheel samples to authentically simulate the sound. B4 was not primarily modelling-based, and neither is Vintage Organs based on conventional multi-samples."

which you are misreading entirely but if you want to continue on misunderstanding far be it for me to interfere

Nope. I'm not misreading anything. I'm just dispelling the myth that B4 was purely modelling based and that Vintage Organs is just a sample library based on conventional multi-samples like some people incorrectly believed. All I said along with Thomas' statement is to reiterate that B4 was not primarily modeling based and that B4 used samples for the tonewheels.

Which you are misreading - as well as missing the point.

no you're dead wrong, the tonewheels that were sampled came after B4 and I can prove it very simply...had you read my post you would have read that I bought the tonewheel set as an add-on...here's the receipt (note the date of the receipt, well after B4 came out), the tonewheel set came after B4 so post all you want...you're wrong.

btw if you want to know why I was so sure it's because I was an idiot. I said B4 was my first Vst instrument...actually I thought I was getting a steal when I bought B4 for 79.95  I knew B4, we sold it when I was in retail but after buying the tonewheel set I had to buy B4.

I mean, I realize that they just eventually roll all of those products into another product (like beatmangling into Kontakt), but sometimes having software dedicated to particular functions makes the workflow that much more productive. Otherwise, why don't they just release a single plugin: ReakKontaktBattSynthMaschineRig. A fully fledged DIY synth/sampler/drum machine/guitar amp/convolution reverb with a sequencer whose installation takes up 20 GB of HD space and comes with a 200 GB library that takes a week and a half to install.
Yep this puts me off too I can see if say they don't want to change the program for another OS however B4 II was not that old and poof it's gone like many other NI products.
...I have all the above mentioned NI products (and Kore 2.0)

...AND...

They all still work perfectly well...

This!

I've heard Nintendo discontinued the SNES "some time" ago. I'm still using mine almost every day though :hihi:

Stuff doesn't suddenly stop to work just because there is no support anymore :)

Cheers

might I add that B4II runs perfectly on Windows 7 and in Samplitude Pro X 64 bit :tu:

If it ain't broke, stick with it! For me, it was broke, as I never liked B4 or B4 II. Vintage Organs sounds a lot better and more like a real B3 to me.

:tu: OT, later on as the days start to get long again we need to talk about a rackmount lexicon multi-fx processor you sell ;)

I heard Roland discontinued the TB-303 in 1984, some people still use it.
Or the Old Moogs...

As long as you have acomputer and an OS (which you can get cheap second hand if you need an older one), a software doesn't really suffer from being discontinued.

Why is it that people think it is normal that hardware is discontinued but for software they expect it to be produced sold for decades ?

Plus : I have B4 II and it works pefectly well even on my Win7 64bit System with Reaper 64bit (bridged).
Win7 will be supported my Microsoft until 2020....

Everybody knows that NI at some point will come out with a new version of the Maschine controllers. Other than a few maybe newly introduced features, the nature of the way maschine is set up, I'm sure the standard controller will rock current software for many years. At least I hope so ;)

Well, my "hardware" is sitting right next to me and it's fine......just could use a few SOFTWARE updates :)
