Hello all,

I am after a midi sequencer/ audio file player that
A: works on an Ipad &
B: will chase SPP or midi clock.

MUlab seems to be perfect... but if you knowledgable folk could please answer me these 2 questions, I would be VERY grateful.

Currently that's 2 x no. MuLab can send MIDI Clock though.

mulab on ipad? seems like that one would generate a lot of sales...

The closest you are probably going to be able to get to that is the Splashtop 2 app, and a very fast WiFi network. It WOULD be cool though. :-)

Yeah, this is about as modular as you can currently get. However, as you say, it uses a tracker interface, rather than a piano roll interface. If you can get past that though, it might work for you. :-) (Personally, I never liked the whole tracker interface thing).

@DiGit: SunVox wasn't a bad idea. It is about as close to modular as one can get on the iPad--it was a valid suggestion. :-)

yeah but it wont chase midi. if you want kick ass modular check out jasuto, but beware its abandonware.

Sunvox works great on a tablet, but there are parts of the interface like the transport controls that are way too small. The modular part is very cool, just wish more work was put into the timeline and it had a piano roll or step sequencer. A tracker interface on a small touch screen isn't exactly the greatest workflow!

Btw, if you want Mulab running on a tablet get a Win7/8 tablet. I have an Asus ep121 (with an i5 powering it) and Mulab flies on it. Screen size is always an issue with any music app, and I am still not really convinced of doing any true work on any touchscreen, despite owning 3 tablets :(

Hmmm... I didn't know. I don't like tracker interfaces in general, so I never really played with it. I just read a lot of very positive reviews about it, and heard it was a really great modular system for the iPad.
