Jeez you'd think an experienced company like Steinberg would know how to name params properly for automation - not one param is named, just numbers. Good thing I have Kore - I am making a template that will allow me to control it, organise presets better, and expose params to hosts that have meaningful names.

To me that just sounds horrible, really.
Finally!

Actually you were right, it's too noisy somehow, deleted the demo and reworked the patch, thank's for the hint :)

OK this is done now - the template enables full control of both layers, potential for live morphing, much better preset management including tagging and ratings, and clearer automation in hosts using logical labels instead of numbers.

Sorry to Windows users but unfortunately Steinberg didn't make a VST2 for the Mac version so I have had to make it with the AU so this is Mac only unless I get round to installing it on my old laptop and have some spare time to make a Win VST version too.

Stephen if I was a Kore user I would hit that donation button once a day :)

Here are some granulated temple nuns I recorded in Taipei plus a huge pad plus a deep drone, all in one demo for the upcoming soundset:

Damn you, Simon. I'm getting Absynth (Komplete 8 ) and I just clicked on your AbsynthSounds.com link in your signature.

Looks like I'll be spending even more money. :P

In all of your sound samples you're adjusting parameters as you're playing, right? You're not just holding down a key and they're evolving the way they do, are they?

Padshop Pro included.

Yes, in most demos I use the assigned Macros, Controllers, whatever there is to demonstrate the diversity a patch can have. Often I record the Midi notes in a first pass and then add the automation for the Controllers (or e.g. the morphing of the Snapshots in the Alchemy Remix Pad). Sometimes I do less modulating if the music of the respective demo needs more calmness and less movement. Especially with Absynth this can get quite complex when there are e.g. 15 Macros assigned. After all I want to give the user as much control possible over a given patch.

Simon likes complex sounds and so do I but sometimes it's also nice just to languish in beautiful simplicity - here is a patch I just made simply layering a granulated bell with a sinewave. This is a great synth for sound design of all types - certainly not just for pads. They should have called in Grainlab or something.

And now for something completely different - this is all one Koresound built around just one of my own Padshop patches, making full use of the morphing controls in Kore to create subtle and not so subtle variations:

Very good!

Thanks - I'm making all these using the factory samples - here's a flute sound made from 2 layered vocal samples
