My thoughts too. I've run into a pretty serious bug with Etch and Logic, posted about it here, in the FXpansion forum, and filed a support ticket and have zero response.zvenx wrote:I am very very concerned that fxpansion seems to be spending time developing new products without fixing their existing products first.

They were being kind enough to illustrate my point.standalone wrote:Yes, the site is having problems right now, I had to try several times to download the installer. Better try later.Crackbaby wrote:

Orca and Clapomatic, are still available as free downloads from your user account area. Haven't been updated for e.g. x64 - and probably won't be - but still very much available.
The way our C/R system is set up is such that if the company ever ceases doing business, it would be a fairly straightforward matter to release information and tools that will allow people to authorise their software indefinitely.
Phase47 - what's your support ticket number & when did you open it? They're supposed to get turned around in under 2 working days, so if you opened it before Friday or don't hear back by end of Tuesday, let me know.

This account is dormant, I am no longer employed by FXpansion / ROLI.
Find me on LinkedIn or elsewhere if you need to get in touch.

I was making the point that you had free products, without C/R, that you needed an account to access. Hi Angus. I did receive a reply both from the ticket and the forum post not long after posting here. Looks like it's known issue with Etch I've encountered where the preset information (the name of the preset) isn't saved in Logic, so when you open your session back up, all the instances of Etch sound right, but the "name" of the preset resets to "default" so good luck guessing which preset you were using, especially if you've got a couple instances going... You can see the problem, hopefully a fix will be coming soon.Angus_FX wrote:Phase47 - what's your support ticket number & when did you open it? In better news, the little free bus compressor sounds pretty good! I didn't have any problem with registering, getting the serial number, etc. No big deal and well worth the 2 minutes it took to get it working.

Thanks to FXpansion for this nice freebie! Very smooth and transparent, a pleasure to use.
I'd love to use the CrossComp for external sidechaining, but VST2 is annoying to set up for that in Cubase. Are there any plans to release a VST3 version of CrossComp?

Thanks for the cpu info. Has anyone compared these to other compressors? Are they meant to be similar to particular hardware compressors? And if so, are they modelled better than other dev versions (e.g. Waves, IKMultimedia, UAD, Nebula etc.)? I'll demo them but I'd like some feedback from those who are experienced with different compressors.xamido wrote:It's good, at least based on my 15 minute fooling around session with it. But as usual, the cpu is pretty high. As comparison, with same setting on 1 drum loop, this is shown on my studio one cpu usage list :
The glue 2%, Fx bus comp 6%
DC8C 2%, FX chan comp 4%
T racks black and white 2%
Don't get me wrong, as of now i'm liking what i'm hearing, but since i usually sequence many track i avoid cpu heavy plugin and for a compressor 4% is pretty big.

After seeing etch sell (and I bought) for $20 just after release you would be mad to buy this at full price, that is if you really need another compressor to go with you current 100 compressors (some free sounding best)!!!
Although I really do doubt they would do another no brainer. It was obviously data collecting for this release.

No, Andy hasn't worked for FXpansion for several years now. Cytomic is completely independent of FXpansion. The DSP for both the cross comp and env shaper were newley developed by myself and Henry_fx. The bus comp and the channel comp are tweaked versions of the ones that ship with bfd2, Geist etc and were developed in house - some parts were written by Andy a while back, but all four of us in the development team have made changes since then...and additional improvements were made for this releasemeloco_go wrote:Does Andy Cytomic has a hand in this?
Hope that's of interest
