After reading http://www.tweakhound.com/2011/09/20/ba ... #more-3255, I decided to refrain from messing with my computer, which runs fine by the way. Windows is not responsible for third-party programs' bugs and deficits.

So, why don't you just say what you did instead of making vague statements? Either you want to help or you don't...

I was on the mutools website and noticed that it is quite an anonymous website
If I am not mistaken any business in the EU is by law obliged to put full contact and business information on their site. Else someone might sue you. In Germany that is already big business for certain lawyers
And the link to the Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College does not work.
Just saying ...

I was just playing around in the track editor, building an entire 5 minute song comprising various patterns. It does get kind of messy. Is there a way to add column headers like chorus 1, bridge, etc., and maybe mouse-over comments?
I accidentally hit some key and the track blocks on the left became minimized (maybe 1/3rd of the original height), it looked nice, no more vertical scrolling
But I can't reproduce the keys I pressed.
Is there a way to save the snap grid along with my template? The recording grid, yes, that works, but when I click on a sequence to edit, it always returns to the brutish 1/16th resolution
I would like it to be 1/64th as default, just like for recording.

Actually it is. Windows does not provide the source code to developers, so they are working in the dark when debugging applications that use the Windows API. Driver developers in particular suffer from this.fluffy_little_something wrote:Windows is not responsible for third-party programs' bugs and deficits.
If MS would give developers access to source code then they would have no excuse, but as they don't then Windows is in fact responsible for some companies being unable to test and fix bugs adequately.

I guess it depends on whether or not you in some way team up with Microsoft.robojam wrote:Actually it is. Then it is a miracle that all those zillions of programs for Windows out there work as great as they dorobojam wrote:I think they don't do it at all. Period.
I worked for a company that was part of the Raytheon group some years back and they got no traction from this.

Yep, that's pretty much it.

Yes you can add locators (aka markers) in the composition and these can get any name you want. Right-click or double-click the composer's time bar.fluffy_little_something wrote:I was just playing around in the track editor, building an entire 5 minute song comprising various patterns. When working on a session, each sequence part does memorize its grid settings though, and that's all saved with the session. Is there a way to save the snap grid along with my template? But the very default sequence grid cannot be saved in a template (yet).

you are annoying. you like to pick away at what people offer with your incomplete knowledge and complain about things that have nothing to do with you? get some time behind the app before you go poking sticks at those who are being generous and helpful. youll get no more from me, i already said all i needed to say for you to deduce what you could do to help yourself.

Why do you even write here, you have not helped me at all so far. Why on earth would I mess with virtual memory and what not as you suggested? I also need this very same PC for my job, so I can't afford to mess it up just because of music.
If there were anything about Mulab that would make it necessary for the customer to change internal Windows settings, that would certainly have to be mentioned and explained in the manual. Like they do in the FL manual, where it says one should set the computer to maximum performance, disable power saving options etc. I have already asked if that is necessary with Mulab as well and was told that that is not the case, or rather that it does not say anything like that in the manual (which I thought was a strange answer, but so be it...).
Windows and my pc work fine. The only problem I have is the recurring error message a couple of times a day.

wow so youre saying you dont make music for a living? then you arent familiar with soundcard driver problems? are you asking someone to solve your computer problems for you? shouldnt you pay someone to do that? or better yet, learn it yourself? i mean, i dont have any problems running mulab. ever. i may crash every once in a while because of some silly plugin but that aint mulabs fault. my drivers are pretty solid in fact. wait, heres some good help: download asio4all and make that your driver. im not sure anyone will continually spoon feed you answers you want to hear. you have to be the one actively looking for a way out of the predicament youre in, thats how life is.

Cool, the locators come close to what I had in mind
