They should not be compared. And if you do then, MuLab is the one that could be sold for a little more being such a powerful and amazing little jewel, AND having a MUX built in!!!!!!!

Would be interesting to know the balance between the Mulab recording component and the MUX (both integrated and separate VST) in terms of investment of time and resources for development, debugging, etc.
In this respect the sidegrades may be a bit expensive given both cost 75 Euros and you already are a paying customer obviously. That goes especially for the sidegrade from Mulab to the Mux.
Since we are already talking about licenses, as far as I know the license agreement is no longer in accordance with EU law. The EU supreme court has ruled that software customers in the EU ARE allowed to sell their software licenses. Just saying, I have no intention to sell mine
Apart from that I like the agreement, it is not full of endless legal gibberish, but rather simple and user-friendly.

And so when MuLab would not have existed, would you have bought the MUX Vst?Tricky-Loops wrote:Because I already have a REAPER car and only wanted the engine...

That's how i see it too. But the extreme competition forces me to keep MuLab at a lower price than what it's worth.

Expensive??fluffy_little_something wrote:Would be interesting to know the balance between the Mulab recording component and the MUX (both integrated and separate VST) in terms of investment of time and resources for development, debugging, etc.

Believe me: If you count all the hours i spent into this, i'm simply crazy to sell these apps for such absurd low prices. But again, that's because of the extreme competition.
Essentially it's this: Eventhough you could argue mathematically that the MUX Vst could be a bit less than MuLab (eventhough the MUX plugin has something that MuLab hasn't), the price of MuLab is already so low that it's absurd to go even lower.
But besides math logic there also is market logic.
As a comparison: Sylenth is a popular synth, it's almost at double price of MUX Vst, while MUX Vst sounds at least equally amazingly good AND it can do muuuuch more!! Then i don't see the logic why MUX Vst (including all updates) at half price of Sylenth would be a bad deal.
I don't agree. That EU law is about non-exclusive licenses. The MuLab and MUX user licenses are exclusive to one person. And if you would think i'm a 'bad guy' because i don't allow it, don't forget the overhead on switching registrations and again giving support to the new customer. That's 2 times work and resources for a single sale.Since we are already talking about licenses, as far as I know the license agreement is no longer in accordance with EU law. The EU supreme court has ruled that software customers in the EU ARE allowed to sell their software licenses.

MUX is 90% of MuLab. Only the sequencing is missing at the moment. But i don't exclude that in the future the MUX will even get much of the sequencing power of MuLab. That's one of the future dreams i have i.e. to integrate sequencing into the MUX.fluffy_little_something wrote:Would be interesting to know the balance between the Mulab recording component and the MUX (both integrated and separate VST) in terms of investment of time and resources for development, debugging, etc.
So MUX Vst should be at 90% of MuLab's price?
No, a bit more because MUX Vst has a Vst wrapper!
So there we are, equal prices, even mathematically.

Some people just want developers to work for Frac all.
If you don't want to support independent developers, then just hand your cash over to the big guys (and that amount would be at least 2 or 3 times more for the same type of product !).
Mr Mutools has to live and eat like the rest of us, so stop with the whining about the already reasonable cost...

Prices are fine. I'll likely get this soon.
I would suggest that Mulab might be a little more popular if multi-core was coded in. I know you've heard it many many times...but really...MC really needs to be next on the hit list. It's the biggest reason I don't use Mulab, despite buying an UL license for V 4.
I support it based on past history with Muzys and on the understanding that MC will be integrated soon.
I know it's for V5 and I respect that, but please make it the very first thing you code for V5 !!!

Nobody's really interested in all the hours you (or any other developer, inventor, engineer or whatever) has put into a product and it should never be considered a selling point.
You really do not need to justify your pricing to anybody. Just charge what you think it's worth and if people want it, they'll buy it.
Personally I think MUX is a great plugin and it will probably do well. Just publicise it as much as possible and it will sell itself. There's no need to go on about how much time it took to make. It's done now. Relax and ignore the whingers.

True. The amount of work is not the market's problem. Only the real value counts. Sorry about that little emotional mistake.Andywanders wrote:Nobody's really interested in all the hours you (or any other developer, inventor, engineer or whatever) has put into a product and it should never be considered a selling point.mutools wrote:Expensive??

I've lowered the price for the crossgrades to 49 euro.
