I'm working on a specific funk song, and the previous bass sound (patch "Clean E-Bass", nice indeed) didn't satisfy me there. Besides I learned a lot about MuLab's modules and MuX' behaviour.
But you're right (again), not all details will be heard in the final mix. When I upload the final patch, you may decide if it was worth the effort (or if I'm a nit-picker).

I think I have an idea: The patch does not contain any samples. There are 3 oscillators, and none of it has any event cable and therefore no information about the pressed key. The oscillators seem to produce a single sound constantly, only enveloped by 2 adsr, which will be triggered by events. So this approach is not suitable for my slap sample problem. But thanks to AndreasD it's already solved.
BTW: What the heck does the oscillator's "number field next to the pitch knob" do, that AndreasD mentioned? Haven't found any hint for it.

The pitch number field sets the maximum amount of pitch modulation you can get from pitch modulation.
Say you send the maximum amount of modulation to the osc pitch modulation input. Have the Pitch number set to 100, you will get a pitch change of +-1 semitone. Set the Pitch number to 6000, you get +-5 octaves of pitch change (+-60 semitones).

If you set Pitch to 6000, try to do a vibrato. You can't get the LFO amplitude low enough for a decent result. Set the Pitch to 25..100 and you can use the full LFO amplitude.

The 6000 in your 'contant pitch' problem was needed to cover the entire keyboard range of +-60 semitones.

Thanks a lot, Andreas. Perfect explaination. 8)

I just noticed, that the value of the pitch field of sample players will obviously not be stored in preset files. Everytime I save the preset with a pitch of "6000" and use this in an other session (or simply change to another preset and than back to the previous, saved one), the pitch field is again "1200".

Is it bug or feature? (I wish it would be a bug.) ;-)

The pitch depth value is saved! Maybe you've saved the preset in the user folder but are reloading the factory preset?

Thanks for your reply. No, I didn't. But isolated the effect in this way: I took a basic synth, added one sample player in the MuX and another one inside the polysynth and set the "pitch depth" of both to "6000" resp. "100". Then I saved the preset (with a new name!) in a folder outside mulab, changed to another preset and loaded the previous saved preset again. Both values of pitch depth were reset to "1200". Same effect when saving the preset under "User\Library\Mux\Instruments".
What am I doing wrong?

Oops, you're right, sorry. I tested the Oscillator and there it's ok, but little save bug in Sampler & Multisampler. Will be fixed asap.

Thank you. Did you play it via a hardware keyboard?
