Hi guys,

I just bought the product and was able to mimic a sample around 80% of how it sounds. Really love this plugin.

Need help, I switched to internal and dragged the midi pattern to the same channel strip in Logic where my guitarist is. I gotta tell u it doesnt sound the same. Is there a problem or is there something that I was doing wrong?

Thanks!

Josh

Also when I trigger the record button in my DAW, its not picking up anything so this is really weird.

I also noticed a strange behavior when I insert a midi file on the strip, the plugin loses whatever is programmed on the sequencer, hence u get the default user setting, which means nothing is programmed. Im not sure if this has something to do when I was demo'ing the plugin and didn't uninstall the program?

Hi,

the Midi File export is not meant to drive Guitarist.
It makes it possible to trigger other software with guitarist patterns.

Guitarist itself is controlled by the Chord Keys and Pattern Keys.
Or switch the sequencer to external and then just let it run along with your song
or bounce audio loops.

So..when Guitarist is driven by random midi (like when you run it from a midi file), you are changing pattern keys which makes you think you are losing your pattern. Actually you are just selecting another pattern.

My advice: Trigger the pattern keys with long notes (notes that last for a bar or longer). Do not feed any midi to Guitarist unless you know exactly what you do.

The manual should tell you all about the pattern keys and the chord keys and how to use them.

You can use the bounce feature in the File dialog in Logic,

Hi Rico

If I take the MIDI pattern from Guitarist and paste it into another guitar sim's midi track, I find the notes are too short.

It's like Sugarbytes have tailored the MIDI output, to be unuseable with other guitar sims.

Alternatively, I have tried to use Melodyne DNA to convert the clean sound of notes / chord to MIDI notes, to get the right note lengths, and this produces a mess of harmonics etc.

If Guitarist would produce MIDI notes that can be used in other guitar sims, that would be great.

Guitarist is a great guitar writing tool, but there's no way you can use it to create realistic guitar tracks because of this limitations and the comparatively limited samples available in it.

Are there any patches / updates likely to rectify these issues in the near future?

Rico the bounce function will onky work if there are midi files triggering the instrument. So you think i have to save my patterns to a key and program it in the piano roll to trigger the instrument? How about the chord?
