Hi

Looking over the muzys specs has me interested. Can this be demoed or even purchased as it looks like a classic.

Muzys is not under my control anymore. I don't think it's still available. But MuLab did reincarnate many of Muzys highlights, and MuLab adds a lot on top of that. So why Muzys?

From Bonteburg's review ... The loop editor and playroom feautures read below ...

The loop editor, you gotta love it. Instead of having to start a new song in the vast expanse of blank space aka linear sequencing (horror vacuui anyone?), you can chose to play back all your midi and audio data in the loop editor first, where you can play around, developing your ideas, all from within the safe womb (that's how I see it anyway) of ever repeating patterns.Don't hesitate to doodle with the loop composer and your keyboard in realtime, Muzys's incredible stability takes care of that. I've performed genuine "DJ-sets" with it, going from one song idea to another, playing happily for hours on end. Heaven. If you think the idea is ripe to be a song, just copy it all over to the song composer.
I haven't mentioned the playroom yet, that's because I haven't tried it out so much yet.
Slap me.
But from what I experienced, it is an even more powerfull live tool than the loop editor, allowing you to change between 128 loop compostions via..tadaa..program change, have it all recorded
- thus creating a new song(or at the very least its backbone) in no time at all. Come to think of it I really should try it out.

Curious to test out the loop editor and playroom :)

The Loop Composer indeed was a nice sketch thing. It was a predecessor of Ableton Live's session view. Note that you can achieve the same using the MuLab's composer using a composition loop as MuLab's sequence parts can have independent loops!

The Play Room was basically a matrix of buttons for all compositions and you could trigger them on the fly, they started playing on the next measure, and all this was recordable into a new composition. Yes nice stuff. Hopefully MuLab & MUX sales raise well so that i can have some extra dev time to reincarnate this in MuLab in a brand new way.

Any tutorials on how that works?

That's the key!
It was kickass for it's time, i used that a lot years ago ( https://dl.dropbox.com/u/69283283/prodr ... gramme.mp3 ) and i'm pretty much looking forward to the day that it comes back to life again (but in a different way, more Mulab like)

But it got some limitations that you would find very anoying these days, like (if i remember well) it was not possible to trigger audio properly with that, you had to use a sampler without hard disk streaming, so it was dependand on the amount of ram you got (not much since it was 32 bit only). It got room for improovement when it was released, and it would have much more today.

It was awesome for it's time, and i miss a feature like that in Mulab (i too djed for years and realtime grooving is a must for me), but, as it was, i doubt i'd find it very usable these days.

So in resume, you guys buy as many Mulab and MUX licenses as you can so we can have a propper and actualized play rom in Mulab X (5?) :D

it seems like many years ago we were talking about how it would be nice to have a play room feature in muton lol will it ever materialize? its a moot point now with mux vst tho init?

Yes i'll seriously consider it for M5. Without any promise yet though, it depends whether i find a good mu-way to redo it.
