I'm considering getting one. I have Cubase 6 and win 7 64 bit PC. I use Diva on everything. What's been everyones experience with this and Diva/ all their other soft synths? Any controllers out there that anyone thinks is better? Thanks so much in advance!!!

Remote SL and Diva is excellent. You can either make your own midi template or use automap. Automap is better for pretty much everything, but has one issue with Diva which is that the coarse and fine tune are the same parameter which causes some issues there. Otherwise it's awesome.

FWIW I prefer the newer Novation Impulse keyboards. I have the original Remote SL 25 + an Impulse 61. The keys feel better, the control layout is better and the LCD is bigger so it displays more useful information. The knobs are endless encoders, and the joystick has been replaced with 2 wheels.
Either way, Automap 4 is excellent, fixes all of the problems with Automap 3 / Pro.
Peace,
Andy.

When you change presets in Diva using the built-in patch browser, does it reflect the change in Automap?Echoes in the Attic wrote:Remote SL and Diva is excellent. After selling my APC40 I decided to give Automap a try again with my original ReMote SL 25 and its great until I change preset.. it doesn't update the controller, which makes for parameter jumps next time I twist a knob. Unfortunate because once I customised the template it was pretty nice to use. This is in Live 8.3.3 on Mac OS btw.
cheers

But it looks like it lost 8 knobs and lots of buttons! I don't think I would like that. The more controls the better. Less switching between pages. I wouldn't mind less controls if they allowed pages to be directly accessed rather than having to page up and down to get to different pages. For example if there was a mode that let the buttons skip directly to a page, then a lot of pages wouldn't be so bad. But having to page and and down with multiple button presses is too annoying to go back and forth. I don't suppose the impulse has this does it?ZenPunkHippy wrote:FWIW I prefer the newer Novation Impulse keyboards. I have the original Remote SL 25 + an Impulse 61. Also, they replaced the joystick? That thing is brilliant! So much better than separate mod and pitch wheels as it's much easier to control both at the same time.
It's good to hear someone from Camel praising automap! I can't wait until Alchemy's lfo's and envelopes are directly available to be automated/mapped.Either way, Automap 4 is excellent, fixes all of the problems with Automap 3 / Pro.
