Hey, my smiley came across wrong. Now my friends at NI feel awkward for everyone praising NI in the u-he forum.

Seriously, hehe, it's all good. One day I shall put my rejected job application at NI on my Facebook timeline. That was 2001 though. Happy they didn't. I'm sure they understand.

And without a doubt Zebra is valid purchase EVERY time you can't go wrong with it but...you either need Komplete 8 or don't need it. To say that it is expensive (especially under summer sale) or that it is HDD bloatware is kinda misleading. Just look on spec sheet of normal komplete 8 (not ultimate). For the price of summer sale (which was ridiculously cheap) you could get some amazing stuff which could be nice addon to U-he tools.

You know Zebra is kinda best of all but it still can't do some things. By adding komplete 8 to it you could get creme de la creme of computer synthesis at this point of time.

Just my imho..
It's an issue about maintaining focus and supporting a particular set of developers I don't think I implied that Zebra can replace all the tools available in Komplete.

It is not about price either, why though do I need to save money on something that I honestly am not interested in using at present. The issue is about what I see is productive use of time, getting to know such a library of tools can easily turn me into a librarian and not a producer. Perhaps this is my own weakness. my own psychological make up I want to sift through whats there and for is this Komplete is too much of moutful, it becomes a fools errand. No right now I feel it's better to make what you need with easy to use and learn tools.

When I want study the issue of weather or not I need Komplete I will look at what I believe I need to use it for, try and see what it offers that I can't get with the tools I'm already using and just get it if it fits the bill, not because it's on sale. No I'd be more inclined to go for a dedicated purpose built library of synth for a specific project.

As to Komplete being bloatware, I never stated that was part of my issue with Komplete. But still getting the Komplete Padkage is a big a decision for producer and to choose this path is not a descision that should be taken lightly or on a whim.

U-He are a great bunch of people; their view of music technology permeates their work and continues to reward the music community with some stunning software. Their recent synths make me feel the way that I felt when I first got my hands on things like a Moog Rogue, EDP Wasp and an MC-202....thrilled.
If you made a U-Heplete type package available then I'm sure I would crossgrade and would recommend to friends as I already do with the individual plugins.

I crossgraded from Reaktor to Komplete as part of the recent NI sale and was overjoyed to get my hands on the latest versions of Kontakt, FM8 and Absynth. They compliment the U-He plugins perfectly.

When I think back to how much money I shelled out for things like an e6400 and a Virus b (both beautiful instruments in their own right), I feel so so so lucky to be able to buy tools from U-He, NI and many many others at such value. They're all stuffed inside my MacBook which in turn can be stuffed inside my bag. I have a whole studio that weighs about 2.5kg with me most of the time and what's more, it's equipped with some of the most innovative and productive music tools that have ever existed.

Shows how things happen for the good when at first you think they are bad I guess :)

Probably at that time it was Daniel Haver himself, because NI was still a small company back then. And they hired Brian Clevinger (sort of) because of Absynth, so I wonder why they refused you. But that's history. Anyway, they still have great products, and I'm glad you remained independent, because we would probably not have Zebra and DIVA (and Berlin Modular? ahem... :hihi:) if you had gone to work with them.

True :D Good that Urs went his own way. U-HE stuff is easily on par with the big boys of the developer world IMO :-)

The Nights who say NI demand shrubbery, I'm not going to give em my best, they have already gotten some of my shrubbery for the Maschine, Razor, New York Grand, True Strike tension, but no no no none for komplete 8 in July 2012, that would not leave enough shrubbery to feed the Zebra! And Zebra's are purportedly even more vicious than the Nights who say NI when they don't get their fair share of shrubbery!!

I must hurry out now and find some shrubbery to feed the Zebra!!
