I am setting up my first DAW, which is a hobby not a profession for me. Which means that I am trying to stretch my limited budget as far as I can. I am a guitar player with some basic keyboard skills looking to add a variety of keyboard sounds (e.g. Rhodes, B3-ish, vintage synth sounds) to my mix. The Eve bundles look like a great deal. My question to you experienced Eve user is this: Is Eve a good solution to the range of sounds I'm looking for. Or, would I better off with something like Sonic Synth or some of the Plugsounds modules?
The rest of my set up currently includes: Tracktion, DR-008 + Slicy/Fillin Drummer, M-Audio 2496, and an Evolution MK-361C for keyboard duties.
Is a good solution for a budget-oriented newbie?

Where did you find the Plugsound modules at $49? I can only find them for $99?

Yes it probably is. And the range of base sounds is being expanded regularly and cheaply, so any gaps are likely to get filled. Plus there's a tool which could let you add your own sounds (not currently available, but should be soon)

www.bigfishaudio.com is still selling the Plugsound modules for cheap ($39), but it looks like they might be out of the Keyboards and Fretted volumes.
That said, EVE is still an awesome product. Have you tried the demo of it yet?

The VFM on EVE is pretty amazing - especially if you can get all the other Dash stuff for a few more $.
EVE plays with extremely low cpu and sounds great at the vintage keys + ensembles stuff. If you buy the soundsets, it covers alot of newer synth stuff as well.
Against something like Sonic Synth, you won't get all the real instruments, guitars, drums etc. with EVE. But you will save quite a bit of cash and probably cover all the vintage and synthy stuff you need - especially pads.
