Well, but those are not important things. They are convenient, but not necessary. If it doesn't work, I will simply continue to use the keyboard instead of the pads, like most people do. After all many keyboards don't even have such pads. I only bought this keyboard because of the quality keys, not because of the gimmicks like those zillions of controllers. I suppose they are more interesting for live musicians, DJs etc.

think of your pads as keys that just look like pads. they do the exact same thing: send midi note on commands. they are specialized to respond to a finger drumming style made popular by the akai mpc series of sampling drum machines. its a convenience thing. so by knowing this detail about midi you wont need to take anyones time by asking questions that betray your ignorance on the subject. oh and when you say its not important to know, i think many here will differ with you on that opinion. we are stuck explaining rudimentary things to you to satisfy your misconceptions... so if you dont study midi for you, do it for us please. once you know the things im talking about youll see why i asked you to learn.
youre in the right place for learning what midi is and why its important to know...

The stupidest question was the one that was never asked.
Just saying...
Just saying...

Why don't you tell all that to the person who opened this thread? After all, I had already found out how the mod wheel can be linked myself. Nobody seemed to mind that he or she asked how that works (which is a good thing, I don't mind anyone asking any question)... I just stated that it does not work the same way with my pads, that's all.> DiGiT < wrote:think of your pads as keys that just look like pads. they do the exact same thing: send midi note on commands. they are specialized to respond to a finger drumming style made popular by the akai mpc series of sampling drum machines. its a convenience thing. so by knowing this detail about midi you wont need to take anyones time by asking questions that betray your ignorance on the subject. oh and when you say its not important to know, i think many here will differ with you on that opinion. we are stuck explaining rudimentary things to you to satisfy your misconceptions... so if you dont study midi for you, do it for us please. once you know the things im talking about youll see why i asked you to learn.

I am familiar with pads, I have been using them on my Boss recorder for quite some time to enter drums
Nor is it any of your business what I ask, anyway. If you don't know how to or don't want to answer, fine with me. Nobody asked you specifically. You are no moderator, nor do you work for MuTools. So mind your own business. You never have anything to say anyway, it is other people like pljones that come up with actual information and solutions, while you only chime in to dump your pointless comments.
Since I am actually trying to make music and not just talk about it, I hope you don't mind my ignoring you from now on...
