Dark Zebra install problems.

So I did buy Dark Zebra...
I installed like explained in the pdf, to the same folders I chose for the "normal" Zebra ( Program Files Steinberg VSTi for the dll - I only install 64 bit - and MyDocuments>Zebra2.dat etc for the five data folders ( Data, Modules, Presets, Support and Tunefiles. )
I opened Cubase, loaded Zebra and ... my serial was gone. I was back in demo mode. Filled in my data, tried to set the interface to large... a window popped up " serious problem...try to save your project..." .
I quit Cubase, started again. No Zebra HZ...mmm
Started Zebra. Same problem.
Tried again... txt file not found. everything frozen. I tried via taskbar, that same window with serious problem...
I guess The Joker got inside that folder... Instead of having the Dark One also, I now have nothing.
I am not accusing u-he: it went right for so many people that it'll probably be something I did do wrong, despite the fact I checked and everything is in the same folders it was before.
Should I reinstall everything perhaps (delete all folders) , or is there a better way?

Hi Erik,
The activation problem sounds like you've been using an old Zebra serial and just need a new one. Please use the support area on u-he.com to retrieve it...
The crash might be related to your preset files. Did you copy over anything from the Zebra2 preset folder to the HZ folder or the other way around?
We are sorry for the problems you're experiencing!
Cheers,
- Clemens

Don't be sorry, hey: we're all human! And in a short while this will be solved. So let's not make a big problem out of it.
I bought Zebra last week, so the serial should be ok. I guess.
I'm trying to nail it down...
Here's a first problem I can repeat over and over again: I open Zebra in Cubase 6.5 ( instrument trach method) and it works. I can change the size of the GUI (I was wrong there in my first entry) but when I click "Unearth the Dark Horse) I get the message about a serious error blabla. I click that away, and Zebra's GUI stays frozen, but I can click it away too. When I open it again, it is the Dark Horse interface that loads. Zebra does produce sound. From the Dark Horse I can go back to Original (GUI) without any problems but when I try to load the Dark Horse a second time, I get a pop-up window stating that " Cubase 6 has stopped working with the options to check online for a solutyion or close the program.
I can repeat this over and over again.

Something must have gone wrong during install... I noticed that Zebra was still 252 and that there was neither a Zebra HZ in the plugins list nor a ZebraHZ.dll in the folder where it should be.
I installed Dark Zebra a second time, over what was already there, (no regsitry, no problems) and now everything seems to be working.
Case closed (for now, and I hope forever)

Cool
Hmmm... I think it's about a mixup of "Unempty Dark Horse" which is a skin for Zebra 2 and The Dark Zebra, which is a soundset with ZebraHZ. Latter also has a skin, but it's called Dark Zebra (I think).
Glad it worked out though, I'll try to figure something out to distinguish the Dark Horse skin from the Dark Zebra...

Thanks.
I won't use the Dark Horse skin anymore now that I have the "striped" version.
