I would disagree with you 100% on that fact - ever used a hardware harmonizer or vocoder and we all lived with midi delay and all sorts of signal round trips on hardware for years.
I'm finding them all more than useable myself.
Mind you i sequence on an MPC and have a lot of hardware as well.
You're...'re...kidd-dding...ing righ-ht...t?....?
Hardware Harmonizers in the real world have latency. Even when they are used on stage for live gigs. That's just how they work. In fact you never see real musicians complaining about latency at gigs.

There is quite a difference between what works on stage and what you need in a studio recording and mixing session... just saying ;)

liquidsound, maybe write some shit about mux in your signature, then you will not have to spam in every non-related topic, ok ?

Hardware Harmonizers do get used in the studio. However that is completely besides the point, the point was to stop whingeing and just get on with making music. A good craftsmen doesn't blame his tools.

Hehe! Good craftsmen generally replace their tools when they need to ;)
And of course professionals factor in the cost of having the best tools they can in order to get the best results.... and forums like this exist so we can actually discuss the tools.

As for making music, I recorded and released a full album of material in the last month. Check out my Soundcloud if you are interested :D

My saying about RE is not spamming. Alternatives neither. Opinions as well. I invested in Reason and I do not like the direction PH are taking. You may do, but I don't. There are several issues that have to do with the future of our investment in which I'm already a part of, and the more you comply or complain it may have a possible impact on others and on PH as well.

Aside from the obvious benefits to Reason users, a large positive I see with Rack Extensions is that people who never would have considered using a VST/i in the past are now being exposed to them. You might think - taking into consideration that this *IS* KVR and all - that there aren't that many musicians out there that fit that description, but I'd submit to you that they are LEGION.

Despite your criticisms of Reason or where it is headed as a product (items I see headquest and liquidsound frequently chiming in to remind everyone), it is a massively successful product with a massive user-base. I think everyone can agree that you wouldn't see the sort of dev support that has appeared just in the initial announcement of RE's had they not thought this through carefully.

We're bound to see a plethora of growing pains, right down to bug fixes and feature improvements/fixes, during these first few months/years. But it's a great thing for Reason users and developers alike, this new relationship.

Reason isn't the only DAW I own, but I still find myself only using Reason, and I see little disadvantage to staying in that environment. This may work for me, and not for others. Clearly there's a lot of opinion on both sides.

But I digress...

Lets face it - this is something new that will benefit Reason users (and 3rd party devs) only. I can only show love for that.

I'm sorry if this has been brought up before, but couldn't somebody simply make a Rack Extension that loads VST(i)s? Some smart fellow might even be able to make an extension that sends MIDI to external devices.

Worth keeping a watch out on.

I don't think it will be allowed by the PH, but the MUX so far is the best candidate.
Go to the MUTOOLS forum and ask that question to Jo the developer.
You can do already similar and better things then the RE in your DAW of choice with VSTs inside the MUX.

Something is being worked on but whether it will get approved is another matter.

I can't imagine PH approving of something from a third party that adds crucial functionality to the core programme itself, which MIDI out would. This is more the sort of stuff they will presumably want to be working on themselves, and selling everyone in a future paid-for upgrade. Unless they are completely missing the curve and haven't made any progress on MIDI out themselves, which would be bizarre.
