NM, I missed it in the intro

I thought this thread was about sound quality of virtual cables. Who has done best physical modeling and list of third party plug-in cable developers. Like in case someone wants to have new better RE cables for Reason or wants to use UHE Uhbik cables in KORG MS-20 because they improve sound quality.

Well you were wrong but do not dispair, jerks usually haven't got a clue, so its quite normal.

as someone who owns a real analog modular (15u of eurorack) I am very grateful for the lack of realistic cables on aalto (wonderful synth) - the way the middle section holds all the routing without getting in the way of the knobs is glorious. It is a UI masterpiece. Don't get me wrong, I love ACE as well - but the routing on aalto is amazing.

There is now a flash-based modular synth with virtual cabling. Its routing is with aAngled cables between, rather than curved cables over, the modules:

Is the Nord virtual modular system still available for download? I may be able to make a shell for it to interact with VSTs. [/img]

Thanks. I do not know about the Nord modular but searching it I found a Nord modular software demo. I have downloaded it and is about to test it. "It is called Nord Modular G2 demo". Is this it?

It sounds fine. They should make it a VST IMO.
I'II put it up there.

Thanks again.

Yeah it's great - the Creamware and Nord ones are probably the oldest virtual cable synths I think. Certainly they precede all the plugin ones and are probably closest you can get to the hardware modulars in software (especially the Creamware one).

Indeed. I do not own Reaktor but it looks great. Hope it sounds as good too. Thanks.

I still need to check that one out. Reaktor always crashed before it could load the old version on my dusty old PC but the new player mode in Reaktor 5.7 maybe fixes that :)

Can not dig this one. At http://www.g200kg.com/en/docs/webmodular/ I am taken to a kind of script page but the synth is nowhere to be seen. Is it down for the moment?

Cheers

Not sure if it's realistic enough looking for you, but Aalto uses mod cables. A little more 2D look though.

Yes.
How about a Nord Modular editor as VST?? That would be quite popular.

The original editor doesnt work on Windows anymore.
The opensource editor Nomad is well dodgy and many cannot get it to function properly, including myself.

--- You can use it with rearoute

BTW pin matrix > cable
You can make unique and usable sounds within seconds

It could be great if someone makes pin matrix modular vst with digital modules - fm, wavescanning, additive etc
