For once, I'm desiring an audio demo since I literally fail at properly using vocoders how they are intended to.

Thanks for them, sad that I still barely use Vocoding (as I don't have a need most of the time).

As intro price, it's cool however, and to some a no-brainer

You really pick up a lot of ideas from C.Budde (Rubberfilter), TAL (Vocoder) and Kjaerhus (compressor/bread and butter tools) lately - but fortunately you develop them further to some extend and most importantly: maintenance them. I really appreciate the effort you put into your tools and I'm glad that they're in my setup.

Thanks ;)

But about the "pick up a lot of ideas", that's probably coincidence, because I don't think I have ever seen this plugins :D

Hi
I should be buying it, but i would like to make a remark, on a general level : one thing that "annoys" me a little with Melda plugins is that there are a lot of info available about the common features shared by every of your plugins, but very few about the exact plugin i would like to get infos about, just as if each plugin was just some kind of variation from your framework.

One example is your vocoder page : when i go to the "overview tab", i expect to know if it features a chorus, if it can generate its own oscillators, if i can use custom samples or waveforms, if it is intended to sound "analog" or more "modern", etc. Basically, the kind of questions i can ask about a vocoder.
Instead, i get tons of uneeded technical informations (like oversampling, preset management, SSE stuff, etc). I mean, i glad it is here, but why the hell would i care to know that your vocoder can work in a 8 channel surround context, if your webpage doesn't make me aware about the more important features of your vocoder ?

Don't take me wrong, it is not a rant, but something a bit weird i wanted to share with you.

I listened to the demo, i enjoyed the drums + pad samples, but when it comes to vocoding, i must say i am expecting also some SVC350-esque, bollocky-sounding sounds, and of course a solid robot voice ;)
Is your vocoder mostly designed for smooth sound processing, or is it also good at single oscillator thick voice vocoding ?

I should use the AtD plugin in Firefox more... though I don't feel that I'm that far off.

I've gotta admit, I agree with sinkmusic. I bought MVocoder already -- I really like your stuff, and the freebies have indeed got me to plunk down for a few of the pay plug-ins -- but we already have a clue.

I suggest that what you have as an "Overview" should really be on a "Specifications" tab or something, and the "Overview" should give more info on what kinds of voices you can easily create, with examples -- not merely sound samples, but "classic George Benson "On Broadway" to Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight" through Beastie Boys and all the way to Imogen Heap and Snoop Dogg and and and". Something to tell people who don't know what a vocoder is why they want it.

I'm not really sure how to reply to this :). The thing is, the framework really gives the plugins the abilities mentioned there, they share them, and these features ARE very important and no other plugin has many of them, so it is definitely a good idea to mention it.

When it comes to separate plugins, sometimes the descriptions may be a little more "specific", but quite frankly saying that "this is a unique vocoder with analog sound borrowed from classic vocoders from 80ths.." and similar stuff is exactly the marketing crap every developer is feeding you. And I just don't want to brainwash the customers. (Sometimes it makes me really pissed when I see what devs write on the websites and when I measure the plugin characteristic, it's all just a pile of crap... that's what I really want to avoid here)

All Melda plugins are available as demoes, so if you are not interested in versatility they provide, and you'd care only about the sound (which would be completely understandable), checking it is better than million words. Even the demoes are not really relevant as your way to use the plugin may be completely different, especially with vocoders.

Of course! It depends what you feed in. That's the trouble with audio demoes and words in general. Here you have 2 signals you feed it, it's like infinite number of combinations. Just check it out ;). It will take you 5 minutes ;).
