What is your favorite Uhbik? How do you use it?

I don't think Uhbik-X will mind if we change the topic away from him.

I'd love to know what your favorite (existent) Uhbik is, or what your favorite way to use one is. The tools are diverse, and I'm curious if people have ways of using them that I hadn't thought of yet. (I'm less excited to hear about how disappointed you are that X hasn't arrived yet.)

Bonus points if you can link to an example!

Dennis and Justin gave some great suggestions for alternate uses for T, in another thread:

I recently started using it to fake sidechaining stuff :)

I like to use it to selectively bypass sends. I use the pattern mode with a moderately slow, tempo synced rate. I put it on a send, in front of a delay or reverb (set to 100% wet). Then I create patterns in Uhbik-T that coincide with a snare drum hit or anything I want passed through to the next effect on the send. I can easily do this kind of thing with clip envelopes in Live but Uhbik-T allows you to set up a bunch of different patterns and change them on the fly.

Has to be Uhbik T. As justin3am mentioned, I've also used it for send masking, but it also makes a mean "whippy" chorus if you use the haas delay and filter on a send and mix with the original.

If you want to hear an example of T excelling at one of it's more obvious uses, it does a great pattern-morhing gate effect at the beginning of this track:

The send masking is a really cool idea! :)

I made a quick sidechain example.
Here is a simple loop with a Diva bass, a Diva synth and a Zebra kick without Uhbik-T:

Without Uhbik-T

Sounds horrible, right?
This time the bass and the synth are processed by the same instance of Uhbik-T:

With Uhbik-T

Groovy! :hihi:
And the same thing without the kick:

Without Kick

Uhbik-T also gives much more control over the groove than any compressor ever could! It's also possible to add some filtering to the volume modulation (like I did in this example) :)

Joking? I think that sounds awesome! (with AND without tremolo)

Could post a few things ... I like Uhbik-G doing reverse taps. It's here on all parts - after T on the pad, before D on bass and koto. Spacy, dubby fun!

Other Uhbiks: One instance of Runciter for EQ'ing/filtering on the bass. A few instances of A all around.

All sounds ACE + Uhbiks.

You guys are thinking far more creatively with this effects pack.. I was going to say the Runeciter for basic sweeps :hihi:

That sounds great - yeah, post more if you've got it. Great to hear Uhbiks being used like this. I just picked up the package, so I'm looking for great tracks to inspire.

Again, I foogin love that track! Da bass is mine... 8)

What did you use for that one?

Really creative, good stuff! :)
Congrat to all of you: Sendy, Dennis and xh3rv

I don't yet have these Uhbick's, but you guys making a nice job
with them!

Cheers,

Runciter. I use it as Compressor, Saturation, Distortion and Exciter. Oh I forgot to mention the filter :hihi:

Zebra actually. Most of the vocalness is caused by a spectrograph waveform I'm using that has a lot of hard notches in it. There's an FM'ed version of that on lane 2 that only has a brief envelope but is louder, which is there as a "punch layer" to sweeten the impact. Zebra through Fabfilter Saturn can trump any "twisted bass machine" synth without even breaking a sweat

Cool... thanx. :)
