Gentlemen...please. I hope both parties realise they have the computer of their choice which is, obviously, the best, and that both parties tolerate the other parties' ignorance and lack of thorough understanding.
This said: my most sincere wish as far as Zebra is concerned is that Zebra may stay Zebra, not that Swiss army knife everyone leaves in the closet because clumsy to use.

Of course we do (I do, at least). I was just joking, as were all the other posters, I believe. I think we are allowed to joke on the subjectErikH wrote:Gentlemen...please. BTW - I am a hybrid user. I have both platforms, and I consider both excelent. And I love swiss army knives. Actually, I have the dream to collect all models available.

I do not know where did u heared that thouse manufactors software runs better on Windows so maby it is true and i will not speak about that but from all other manufactors i know , they say opposite.EvilDragon wrote:LOL, I'll never get a Mac. I can get better performance for half the cash spent (and this is verified by Steinberg, Vienna, NI, and some other vendors - their own software runs better on Windows than on Mac, simply because when you code for Windows you can optimize the programming better, especially when disk streaming is concerned).
And also u have to think globaly not in a singel direction and by that i mean, that ok some plugings might be more optimised for Windows but u have to treat ur system as a whole, so by that i mean for example if something in Windows crashes it most likely will crush ur Steinberg, NI and awrything u are running. And for example if u catched an idea and then ur computer crashes then u might lost ur idea when u will be fixing the problem ih ur computer.
Yes it is true that for the same price u might get a better configuration of PC , but i hate thouse malfunctions, crashes and bugs. I better now get something less powerful but something rock solid stable that does not get on my way when i am making music, because i still remember thouse countless restarts and crashes with my old pc, now with my Mac i even do not know what is that, i am doing music and i do not have to deal with counteless crashes, restarts and other crupp.
It is like u can get supper fast car which can run 360km per hour but u will need to fix the engine awry 100km or u just get the car which goes 200km per hour but u will forget about maintenance that is the same as Pc vs Mac

Confirmed here. I wanted to try a Mac about a year ago, and I only got disappointed by its performance. About 20-30% "penalty" on all plugins in comparison to my WinXP for the same plug-ins and projects in Reaper. Not to mention that the binaries are anywhere from half to double in size from their Windows counterparts, and seem bloated in comparison to Windows ones that seem bloated enough to me already. Testing was done on the same PC, of course.EvilDragon wrote:LOL, I'll never get a Mac. But graphics and GUI on OS-X sure looks fancy!
On a sidenote: I don't like Windows, too, since I think an OS should be Open Source, not a single company's property. Computer operating system is just too *big* responsibility [and profit] to give its ownership to one company IMO. It should be the property of the people, billions of people who use it. Programs can be owned, but not the operating system. It's like You can own an island, but you can't own a country, or the whole planet, because it just wouldn't be right, right? Right!
On the topic [] I think Zebra is already full of possibilities. Possibly just add a few things here and there and call it v3?
Cheers!

Performance issues? System instability? Seriously, that's all you got? Sounds like 10 years ago:x

Now, next platform bash will be deleted.
Zebra3 might integrate modal synthesis. On either platform.

2 things i cant wait for Zebra 3 and the Drop, making music is so much fun! How can one be bored in this day and age with so many things to learn and do
I would loooove to be able to drop samples in Zebra also I remember once Urs saying something about a supersaw or hypersaw( i dont remember exactly which one it was) technology that he has, will that be implemented in Zebra 3?
I love music but more than that, I love making it

I have made this improvement request weeks ago, maybe in another thread.
To be sure it's received, I repeat this here, hope the devs won't bother.
With the sheer amount of modules, panels and knobs it is a bit difficult in current Zebra having a complete view of what is modulating what and how.
Of course, this is especially true and important for complex patches that involve MSEGs, LFOs, ENVs all together and what's not.
IMHO a screen that presents a (possibly editable) list of involved modulators and modulations would help a lot, both for studying presets made by others and building own sounds.
Thank you,
Mario
