Yes, you have a position knob and time set to negative values - e.g. -50% - will playback the sample backwards at half the speed. All of these parameters can be modulated with Controls, LFOs what have you, same as in Alchemy really.
thats something which isnt very well in alchemy though still :(
fiddly :(

im glad, i hope to get this here as well!

I'm just finishing the release PDF for my Padshop Bank and haven't gotten any response by the Steinberg guys yet - could someone be so kind and tell me the sample path for User samples on Windows where my folder "Granular Worlds" with the sample will be installed - Is it maybe My Documents\Steinberg\Padshop ?

Thank's
Simon

Simon,

The default user sample location on Windows 7 is:

My Documents\Steinberg\Padshop\Samples\User Samples

full path:

C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Steinberg\Padshop\Samples\User Samples

Thank's! Matthias from Steinberg got in touch with me in the meantime so I'm now informed, just testing now if the absolute sample paths from my Mac installation will also work on Windows machines.

Fantastic set, Simon! Loving it, and will be using it in my current soundtrack work. Highly recommended.

Steinberg is elated to release free trial versions for its two synths, Padshop Pro and Retrologue. Both trials come with the same functionality as the full versions and can be used for 30 days.

Padshop Pro is the next step in the evolution of Steinberg's acclaimed granular synthesizer Padshop and offers exciting new features for experimental sound design. The pro version comes with a drag and drop sample import function, a 3-band parametric EQ, a high-quality algorithmic reverb and 50 new presets.

Retrologue is an exceptional virtual analog synth that spices up your production with first-class analog purity. Highlights of Retrologue include two cutting multi-oscillators, an earth-shattering sub- and noise-oscillator, twelve quality filter types and a high-class FX section.

Both synths feature full VST and AU support and come with a variety of production-ready presets that will expand your creativity.

Speed knob.

I also suggest you to use the '?" button down right, you'll find there fast most answers to your technical & basic questions.

thanks i just checked the tutorials, tutorial 3 is a bit hard to understand atm but i will get it hopefully. what i didnt find was how to sync/stretch your sample to the host tempo.

for example i have a sample which is recorded at 80 bpm but my project is 115 bpm, so it is synced with the rest like in alchemy.

Assign a temposynced LFO to Grain Position - Ramp up shape - set the number of Beats in the LFO sync menue - set Grain position to 50% and modulation depth to 50 % - then the LFO will scan through your sample. Use small Grain duration sizes for this - e.g. 10-20.

Just saw this thread so haven't read a lot of it.

Padshop is about $49 and upgrade to Pro is about $10 more.

Not sure why I would want to buy Pro at $79 if Basic with the Upgrade is equivalent product.
