Is it possible to make the Zebra GUI reopen at the last page used? Possibly a Cubase issue?

Each time I open the GUI, it opens to the preset page, and to the same folder each time, no matter what folder I change to... for example if I open the "sqigls basses" folder, then close the GUI and open again, it will go back to the "sqigls leads" folder every time. Anoying if I need to close the GUI temporarilly while working on the synthesis page... etc

Can I change/reset this behaviour somehow?? Delete a preferences file or something?

Thank you

[EDIT] I've discovered this seems to be localised to Cubase 6.5.3 x64.
Also... I just bought the Padsheaven bank and recorded a lovely patch, simple chord... I saved the patch and opened it in another instance, the patch sounded heaps different, and was 15dB louder, but all the knobs and controls seemed to be in exactly the same position. When I saved the project and opened it again, the patch was GONE, replaced by the altered sounding patch. Now I can't get the original sound back again... what the fudge!!???

Yes, you can change it. For example, click on Synthesis button, then right-click it and choose "Make as default". Done.

I have tried this, unfortunately this is not working. The GUI only opens to the preset page

Works over here in Reaper... :S

Is this version 2.5.2 or is it the recent beta?

Post

Both have worked well for me, when versions are concerned. Let's see about OP...

2.5.2 always opened to the Preset page...
i just installed the beta and it always opens to the perform page :P

You could try this:

Go to your Zebra2.data folder (by default it should be in your VST plugins folder, I think), then go to Support folder, and open com.u-he.Zebra2.UIprefs.txt in Notepad or something. Then add this line (or modify it if it's already there).

V_PROPERTY name='Preference' id='0' value='TopTabs:default:Synthesis'

Reload Zebra in your host.

must be a cubase issue, as other plugins i own (that have multi pages) also don't retain their page upon re-opening. I opened them all in VST Host, and they all retained their page. Live x64 beta is f**king out on me with a 'memory' error at the moment for some reason, so i can't test in that unfortunately...

I just tested Cubase 6.0.6 x86 and it also has the same behaviour.

You legend, that hit the spot!
Thank you very much!

Is there any any code I could enter to have it open the page I was using before I closed the GUI? Breaking your balls? Thanks again!!!

I'm assuming this "com.u-he.Zebra2.UIprefs.txt" file is where the 'right click on the tab' selection is saved usually? If so, just to let you know, this write is not happening in Cubase 6. No matter what I select, it reverts to the (thanks to EvilDragon) code that i just entered...

Post

It seems there's a folder write permission issue for Cubase, then.

Post

i just ensured all permissions are full, for cubase in windows, but it hasn't solved the problem... maybe i'm not doing it right?... will research a bit...
Thanks again!

Where's your VST folder located? Is it in Program Files folder? If yes, then that might be the reason - Windows Vista/7 don't allow programs to write in that folder no matter what, IIRC...

OT.

Ahh OK!
I was scared the first time, that something was wrong with
the Padsheaven bank. :)

Cheers,
