Rather, adding new modules with similar functionality - eg, the VCF vs XMF modules - could be confusing.

He argued to get rid of the FM modules... 1 osc and 1 fm module is more flexible than the fm module integrated into the osc... with 2 separate modules, I can put the fm module in a separate channel... I can also put another module between them... that is some important functionality lost by making them one module

He also argued that 4 filters and not 6 is enough... I disagree... though I would be fine if the xmf functionality were wrapped into the standard filter (GUI would have to expand cause the xmf is twice the size of the regular filter) but I would still like 6 filters... it is easy to use filters fast... 1 for decimation, 1 for some eq, 1 as the main filter and another as a hp filter you have 4 in one channel right there... So I would like the regular filter and xmf integrated and have 6 of them cause then I would have 6 regular filters and sometimes 4 is tight (and I use an xmf then) since they also serve as sample rate reducers (decimators), phasers and eq's and not just as regular filters... actually, I wouldn't mind 8 but definitely 6 and not 4

I'm sure if the fmos and oscs were to become one we would be given enough to recreate all our old favorites.

FMOs stay separate because they'll do some stuff that normal Oscs can't, such as some of Bazille's tricks.

I would also like to be able to have a few more step# options... the highest odd # of steps currently is 11... sometimes I want higher... sometimes I want 20 or 18 too... instead of adding more options to the list, perhaps just user selectable 1-128

Also, I would like to be able to constrain the movement of a step, not just quantize after the fact.

Also, currently, you cannot check the value of a step without clicking which changes it...

Another Modmapper request... please make a way to reset modmappers to 1st step... and maybe an arp mode where the modmappers are tied to the arp... by that I mean arp starts and all active modmappers start from 1st step

And I am in no hurry for a Zebra 3... Zebra 2 is so fine sounding and still has so much room for exploration and new techniques... I have been exploring using modmappers with the arp to make arp sequences longer than 16 steps... This isn't such an obvious sounding example but I like it...

sorry if this was mentioned before, but i would REALY like to see vector envelopes - make the XY controllers do that, atm i use 2 MSEGS so i can watch the diffrent envelopes overlap but switching back and forth kinda ruins creativity.

also - being able to introduce our own formulas into the MMod, kinda like the Fruity Formula controller works.

Beautiful sound!

Not sure if this is possible, to be able to draw a wave i.e in photoshop and import that picture of the wave into zebra?

Not really.

Echoes in the Attic wrote: That's great to hear! I was always afraid you guys were just going to keep addi modules. One thing I was never crazy about was all the different modules for similar things.
I guess the idea of modular synthesis is not your thing.
If you have 4 different sounds on 4 separate outputs, you have a layered sound of a combined 4 different sounds into one.
What's not to be crazy about with those options.
Similar modules become dissimilar, once you give them all different settings, as well.
Never said there shouldn't be 4 channels anymore. Just thought the similar types of modules could be made to be the same to give us the ultimate flexibility. Ie. if every osc had a custom waveshape mod as well as fm etc. and each filter had the xmf types and the filter fm etc. for consistency. I don't care how many of them there are. I'd never use more than 4 of each (and 98% of presets don't either), but if people want them then cool, keep them all. 8 oscs and 6 filters. The number of them is beside the point really. Why not 10 oscs and 8 filters?

That sounds great - can you share this patch with us or is it for a forthcoming bundle?

Glad you (and others) enjoy the sound!

It is sort of a backburner project to put together a Zebra bank... but there is always something else that has my attention (like the 3000 photos and couple hours of video I am editing from my travels which is part of a project I m working on). Maybe I will just post a few as is...
