I noticed that the yellow time bar (how do you really call that "cursor" bar?) will not be displayed in an opened automation part until an envelope point exists at the very end of the sequence. Try this to reproduce:
1. New session
2. add automation track
3. new sequence/part in automation track
4. loop this new part
5. open the part
=> no bar is visible
6. add an envelope point at the beginning of the part
=> no bar is visible
7. add a second envelope point at the end of the part
=> yellow bar gets visible.

Don't know if it's really yellow or light green, but inside the automation part window the bar only runs left from the most right envelope point. For me not really a prob, but strange.
