Thanks. I hope I have time to look into it before my vacation.
Howard is the other person at u-he who knows Bazille very well, it's quite natural that he tries to help. We have just not quite worked out what the actual problem is, but maybe the presets help us understand.

I think I understand what alpha210 is saying but I cannot reproduce the issue.
I believe he is saying that if you use the sequencer as an audio source, then patch the same sequencer out to a CV input for a module that isn't active in the signal path, it will still have an impact on the sound. Is that correct?
@Alfa210: please try this patch...

When you turn adjust the mod depth parameter for Fractal Resonance on Osc3, does it have an impact on the sound?
Very nice patches by the way.

Urs
there is some patches (experiments with sequencer etc...)
bazille 05
Cheers.
These presets are all different... do they all have the problem you talk about? If not, perhaps you suggest 1 in particular that does.

Bazille is a free alpha and there are no registered users and there is no official support. Really, it is a courtesy for anyone from U-he to take the time to reply.

Thankfully, Urs and the rest of the team have been very kind about answering questions and responding to bug reports.Urs wrote: - do not post lengthy bug reports, the beta team does a great job
- I do not want to hear about crashes, seriously
- no, it doesn't have a file browser and it might crash when using a host environment
- yes, patches may sound different in the final version
- no, you shouldn't sell yor CZ-101 just yet
- I will not answer questions related to usage aka How Does One Do This Or That...
- and yes, it'll expire at some point...

There is no problem at all, for sure!Urs wrote:We have just not quite worked out what the actual problem is
Absolutely...justin3am wrote:I believe he is saying that if you use the sequencer as an audio source, then patch the same sequencer out to a CV input for a module that isn't active in the signal path, it will still have an impact on the sound. Is that correct?
and it works if use the sequencer as an modulation source too.

Thanks!
Try this patches, please (feed something from sequencer to any module that isn't active.

I think I understand the problem now, and it's a feature not a bug. In the two patches you posted, if I route a cable from the last sequencer output (the output that is already in use) to the CV input on an unused module, nothing happens (as expected). If I route from one of the other sequencer outputs to an unused module, the sound changes.
The reason this happens is because Bazille's sequencer is getting divided into separate parts. If you use the last output, it operates as a 16 step sequencer, if you use the second and fourth outputs you have two independent 8 step sequencers, if you only use the first output, it's only operating as a 4 step sequencer.
So I think what you are experiencing is intended behavior, it's just not documented anywhere.
If I'm off base, I'll look a little deeper.

Please allow me to ask a question that might seem silly to most of you . . .
What exactly will Bazille when it is officially released? A long time ago I had the notion it was a piece of Berlin Modular . . . like there were 3 or 4 components: Bazille, ACE, and . . .
I realize most on this thread are way deep into things, but I'm missing the big picture. I appreciate a brief summary of what exactly Bazille and/or Berlin Modular will be.
Thank you.

Honestly, I don't really know yet. It's always been a moving target, and as with all of those, neither dates nor specifics can ever be unveiled. Only ideas can be propelled. One day hopefully this whole thing will emerge.
(this year I think I have written 100 times more emails and forum posts than actual code... we're working on a fix for that so that it's not just on Clemens and Sascha's shoulders to get these projects going - I must withdraw myself from this... I must overcome the tingling urge to check mails and forum posts)

@Justin:
I couldn't for the life of me work out what Alfa was trying to say. Yes,
connecting an "intermediate" sequencer output to anywhere will split the sequence.

there is some trick to make envelops more "punchy"
if you feed sqr-lfo to S&H and trigger it with quantized envelope,
you get 4-bit like envelope, as a result..
there two shots.
