i decided it was time to soup up my SE installation and
add a load of free 3rd party *.sem/*.sep mmodules to my
modules folder. in fact, i've ended up adding just about
everything i could find across all my download folders.
(and thought this could be perilous, so i have put them
all in a subfolder called 'addon modules', with subfolders
either per category or per dev, so that i can remove them
easily if there is a problem.)
i had a few (predictable, i already had a few installed)
doubles, which i had to remove, but i now have it booting
up without 'doubles' messages, and reasonably quickly(eg:
it hasn't slowed SE down as far as i can see)
(little lie: i still have EVM SE Osc showing up as installed
twice, but it has been doing that for ages, even though i
removed it completely- i put i back in, and had the message
twice for that module...???)
the current problem is that so far quite a few of these
modules are no-shows. i even added some quite recent ones
last night, and they don't show either.
so:
1/ any reason why this might be?
2/ can i/we get some appraisals/bug reports/etc of modules here?
- i am referring to the FREE ones -
it could save a lot of time, and some may be better than others
for the same job, obsolete etc etc.
(including any recommendations for managing add-on modules)
