I've only played with it abit but couldn't see this.

Is it there ?

Is it necessary ? (e.g. how do you avoid nasty velocity-related sample changes ?)

cheers

there is an internal envelope with default setting,
not user editable,

did you noticed clicks or bad jumps?

im not sure why you would need velocity x-fading considering afaik very few of the sounds use velocity layers.

I'm probably barking up the wrong tree (as I say, hardly used it yet  )

As a "rompler", can you have velocity mapped multisamples ?

If so how does Eve reduce obvious changes of sample when new velocity triggers a new sample ?

yes, EVE can use "velocity mapped multisamples" as you call them, or "velocity layers" as I called them.

However, almost none of the soundsets use them to my knowledge. Thus you don't have to worry about crossfading them.

Velocity layers ! That was the expression I was thinking of (it's been a long weekend  )
