Has anyone been able to successfully save a preset and then load a user preset? It doesn't seem to work on OSX. I get a weird error when trying to save the preset about how the file type extension doesn't match what it actually is and then I can't see anything in the 'user' folder in the preset browser.
Kind of a buggy beast this Retrologue. Sounds well enough though.

Didn't know about this, thanks for finding the fix. Although it has to be said a bit of a pain to install the huge beast that is .NET 3.5 just to run this on XP, so apologies..Bronto Scorpio wrote:The latest Steinberg stuff doesn't officially support WinXP anymore.photonic wrote:HELP![]()
I just tried to install Retrologue, but the setup stops. I tried it three times, no luck.
Steinberg says, that Windows 7 is necessary. I have WinXP. Is this relay the reason? Any others on OSC working with WinXP and allready tried Retrologue?
Photonic
But you just need to install the .NET framework 3.5 (iirc) and everything will work fine
I'm using Cubase 6 and the Retrologue demo on WinXP without any problems
But eLicenser should not be necessary to install.

Agree, should really be there. Will notify Steinberg about it, here's hoping for a fix.Robert West wrote:Gee, A forward and backwards button to scroll the presets would have been nice... maybe even a small text bar to show the name of the patch? Seems that would be a standard feature by now...

Agree, probably spoilt after Dune, but then VA will always be sort of close to VA, isn't it.adagiocm wrote:+1 here. I think our impressions are shaped by having such a versatile synth as DUNE last month, and it is really hard to match that every month. I'm sure we will have a lot of fun with this synth too, in any case.jasinski wrote:Started playing with it today. It seems like a decent analog style synth. Nothing blowing me away though. I like the modulation matrix but sonically it's well trod ground.

"Note Expression is a revolutionary new way of controller editing, introduced in Cubase 6. As an alternative to viewing/editing controller data in the Controller Lane in the Key Editor, controller data can now be viewed/edited directly on the associated MIDI note events"evo2slo wrote:One of my favorite things I've been toying with lately is Cubase note expression, changing parameters such as cutoff and resonance of individual notes within a chord. Not sure though if this is fair to use in a contest such as this where everyone does not have access to it. V'ger or Irion... any thoughts?
So just a different way to write controller automation which is of course fine. Some DAWs will always be able to do things others can't, just the way it is.

I have to say, I really liked this retrologue! Very good sound and the price tag is fine.
Great chances of becoming a future acquisition.

i have managed to work around it by saving the presets as 'channel strips' in logic.....don't know what daw you are using
