Some of them are heart stopping beautiful!

Is there any way i can get the presets from you?
Solardrop, Evoltring, etc.. do you have a bank or something?

Congrat!
Glad you like some of them :)

It has sort of been a long term plan to put out a soundbank... but other things I want to do more are always first on the list... so it hasn't happened... but I will look and see what I have ready to go...

I always enjoy listening to your preset sound-clips pdxindy. I have to agree with hollo, those Zebra presets are sublime.

First, some of my favourite patches I created for Tone2 Gladiator synth

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... s_Huge.mp3
Well, I just love that pad. I created it using Gladiator's randomizer, then tweaked :)

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... _Opera.mp3
Another pad - cold, "space opera" ;) pad - actually quite easy to achieve with gladiator

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... a_Town.mp3
Another randomized sound. Quite unique actually - some kind of Asian instrument ;)

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... alogia.mp3
Just a warm pad

Sylenth - it's trance, EDM machine but can make some amazing pads too:

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... h-Pad0.mp3
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... h-Pad1.mp3
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... h-Pad2.mp3
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... h-Pad3.mp3

and some "proper" Sylenth usage - some EDM, Trance whatever melody - Cafe Del Mar inspired tune
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... el_Mar.mp3

V-Station - my favourite synth, probably i know it the most (compared to other synths i have). I like that it's quite limited synth, and i love to push this synth to the limit. I like it's bright sound - great for main melodies, but it's still possible to make some interesting, smooth sounds.

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... _Chord.mp3
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... lavour.mp3
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... _Pluck.mp3
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... Melody.mp3
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... op_Arp.mp3

Toxic Biohazard - very powerful, and to be honest one of the most underestimated synths. combination of FM synthesis + custom waveforms + 6 oscillators offers very, very wide range of sounds. I tried (with success ;) ) to replicate a lot of commercial sounds with Toxic Biohazard.

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/756231/mp3_dem ... ce_Arp.mp3
Ok, maybe it's not about pushing to the limit ;) but I just like this recreation of Nu-Nrg - Buttefly hard dance track. Powerful arpeggio, I like how resonance filter works here.

ps. aah, all fx are internal plugin FXs. no cheating :hihi:
Hi D N A,
thanks for the examples! :)
The dance-trance ones are not really my style, so I can't comment on them so much.
But I was impressed by the low tones in the Sylenth pad3 example. Were you holding those notes or was it the release that was particularly long? I liked it!

The first 3 gladiator examples were also nice. The first one: is it a split voice?

Very nice and warm. I like these types much more than the colder trance arps.

Did you make that preset yourself?

I made a patch for ACE that was based on (my memory of) the Novachord, but I wouldn't mind having a serious go at an emulation or two. Got any samples for use as "targets"?
Hi Howard,

i just started an experiment to try recreating the Novachord in Mutools MUX.
My reference is Soniccouture Novachord with which i first tried to analyze the raw waveform (which seems to be a Sawtooth) and what happens when i use the controls in the Soniccouture Novachord GUI.
Here is what i found so far about the original controls:

- Resonators 1-3:
Those seem to be a combination of a saw waveform and a BP filter with Resonance.
The difference of Resonators 1-3 seems to be the Cutoff frequency of the BP filter. The knob in the original synth seems to control the Gain/level of each of the Resonators (= Saw/BPF combination).

- Deep Tone:
This seems to correspond to a LP filter and the control at the snth seems to control the Gain/level of the Resonators sent trough the LPF filter.

- Brilliant Tone:
First i thought this should be a HPf filter but it seems to be a LPF/HPF combination. The synth control/knob again seems to control the gain/level of the Resonators sent through the LPF/HPF combination.

- Full Tone:
Not totally sure but this seems to be a BPf/LPF combination (or a different HPF/LPF combination). Again the synth knob(control seems to control the gain/level of the Resonators sent trough the BPF/LPF combination.

In fact all the 3 filter controls at the original synth seem to be a mixer for the 3 different filters and do not control the Cutoff frequency.
I am trying to set the correct Cutoff frequencies of all filters involved using a Signal Analzyer and my own ears.

So far i have not implemented the "Bright/Mellow" control and the vibrato.
A Chorus FX is added too already.

I'll post the MUX preset as soon as i think i am at least close to the target including the vibrato etc. As controls at the MUX interface i try to use the same as in the real synth.

PS:
Those who don't know MUX could check here:
http://www.mutools.com/mux-product.html

You could also use another VST plugin as a module which i have already tried with TAL U-NO-LX.

This ^^^^ is the type of post that gets interesting.

--Makes me wonder: can KVR start a sub-forum that's for tweaking sounds, one sound per thread? There's so much to explore, it would be less likely to get off-track that way. (Just for sounds that people are interested in manipulating in-depth, and discussing the results, making suggestions, etc.)

Just an idea..

Don't know if this is interesting to this thread. It's a walkthrough of various patches I've just designed for Absynth.

Some nice sounds! Too bad I don't have Absynth to try it out.

--Or too bad sounds aren't all the same format, no matter the synth! :D

Anyway, you have some nice effects in there. Sometimes it's good to just study what types of effects a synth can make.

Thanks!

Glad you like it...

All the sounds I posted are from my own presets... The Bazille ones are rather unusual sounding. It is really a unique synth with exceptional sound quality. Best raw bass sounds I have heard... But Zebra is the synth I love the most for sound design. The toolset is just so diverse and the semi modular design allows such flexibility in the use of the various modules. Of course the sound I posted above is only 1 osc and filter :)

I'm happy to add to this thread.

Here is my favourite preset ever:
Surge - Blue Pad

And this is my favourite patch from those I've designed, which will be in my next bank, soon to be released:
Synplant - GW Perior

And yes, I love pads!

Here it is a 303 preset using the new Corona 18dB LP filter. I'm liking it a lot lately for 303 sounds.

The sound below is a preset using a single note and mod wheel.

I can paste the XML if anyone want it :)

Sounds fantastic, George! Together with a nice 909 groove it would certainly be a nice acid tune :D

Speaking of Surge, I made this some time ago only using Surge and no external FX and just my own presets: http://soundcloud.com/bronto-scorpio/gu ... -synth-one

Definitely still an overlooked synth!

Post

I just checked my Soundcloud account and found a bunch of demos.
All the demos are just made with one synth and without external FX (sometimes a limiter on the master).

Bazille: http://soundcloud.com/bronto-scorpio/infection-demo
Diva: http://soundcloud.com/bronto-scorpio/journey
ACE: http://soundcloud.com/bronto-scorpio/br ... io-100-ace
Zebra (This one is really old....I've learned a lot since then): http://soundcloud.com/bronto-scorpio/untamed-zebra-demo
Some Zebra sounds: http://soundcloud.com/bronto-scorpio/guess-the-synth-1
And a small Muoan Tau demo (+ a simple delay): http://soundcloud.com/bronto-scorpio/mu ... sline-demo
I used several U-He synths and FX for this one but I just have to post it. I totally forgot about it! It has to be the most stupid thing ever :D
http://soundcloud.com/bronto-scorpio/silly-u-he-theme
And a demo of my Future Retro soundbank for Diva which you can buy on my website

Cheers Brian. Yeah, I'm toying with the idea of taking the best sounds from my Massive and Absynth sets and maybe making them into Kontakt format so that they can be used if you don't have the synths. But then you need Kontakt! it never ends...

Great thread by the way. Really useful for hearing what different synths can do.
