Very well and humorously put. I feel that all Komplete upgrades after Komplete 5 have been bulls**t, because the only differece between one version and the next was the amount of waffle sample content and some good products e.g. Pro-53 being stripped out. I am mostly interested in the synths and for every new synth they release they seem to discontinue two other synths.Xenobt wrote:Don't forget Kore (last summers scandal!), Garritan Personal Orchestra or the Komplete Elements downgrade from 12 to 3 GB. They seem to have great sounding, innovative products and an eternal bullseye on their own foot. And Beethoven's ear for complaints and forum participation. A new NI rep said hi here last year and hasn't been heard from since!masterhiggins wrote:This is why I hate Native Instruments. They can actually make some very good plugins/hardware, but their complete indifference to the lifespan of their products is absolutely disgusting. Pro-53, B4, Vokator, Intakt...

"Maschine 2" or whatever they name it won't necessarily be better than the existing Maschine: Kore 1 sported a very useful multi-client ASIO audio interface and MIDI ports, whilst Kore 2 had none of these. Novation's SL mk1 had two LCDs and the SL mk2 only one. In other words, a newer product can mean losing features.
NI release a product for the first time and everybody rushes to buy it. Once everybody owns the product, sales start to drop drastically, at which point NI simply drop support and come up with a new different product so that everybody buys something from them again. Repeat.
The problem with Ni lies in its business model. It is clear in my mind that NI is run by businessmen and their only goal is to grow the company for the sake of it. They are after the money. Steinberg business model seems to have a similar foundation. This sort of mentality is the source of ALL major problems (environmental, social, etc) in the world. Cockos is a good example of what a software company should be like. Cockos is run by the developers themselves, and they love what they do, use the software they make and their goal is to make a good product and to make difference. Kudos.
Bottom line is NI will shaft you once every now and then. Enjoy!

I'll take Komplete 8 Ultimate over Komplete 5 any day of the week. Yes, it's mostly sample content, and that sample content sounds better to me than Pro-53 and B4 II any day of the week.Scoox wrote:Very well and humorously put. Not all of us got $59 million from being bought out by AOL. Give NI $59 million, maybe they'll start being more how you want them to be.The problem with Ni lies in its business model. bought maschine and sold it 3 weeks later. not that it's bad but it's nothing for me. i think it's for people who dont need a keyboard/instrument while producing. not that this is lame or sumthing. the younger laptop-producers have for sure a great solution with maschine.

Agree. I really couldn't understand that they dropped B4, most of all. Why abandon a perfect product?masterhiggins wrote:This is why I hate Native Instruments.
