Because it's the standard Windows behaviour  unless you reconfigure all of your other apps to delete things on right-click :nutter:

This right-click behaviour is what makes the piano roll/playlist so quick.
..so dangerous! I'm always deleting things by accident!

Sorry, my aged brain is now hardwired - literally! - after using Windows/ MS Office etc for 20+ years to expect a pop up, not a delete, on R Click!! :o

Def need an option to re-define this

Apart from that, FL Studio is great and can do just about anything - but because of it's complexity - perhaps due to it's organic evolution and different options for legacy/ priced versions - there are a few things that I wish had been made a bit clearer, that as a total beginner took me ages to work out. In many cases by learning on another DAW!

The manual is very comprehensive, but many times it is like reading a car handbook when you are trying to learn how to drive. For example, it lists all the commands for an LFO or Envelope - but doesn't really explain how you use them or what they are for..

So you have to use the videos and there are hundreds of them! Many are very good - and I like the ones by Warbeats, because they tend to be taken slower - but it is a bit hit and miss.

The Ableton Live manual is not as detailed, but takes you through in a logical manner - and the application includes many built in lessons - with simple videos.

For me, FLS and Live complement each other very well

But if I get a minute I'll make a list of "Things I wished I'd known first time round"

Agree about Live's manual, and vids. The "blow-ups" (emphasis) of what is being walked-through/pointed-out, are sooo good for dyslexics.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

This.

Personally only tried FL years ago but threads like this always interest me. Methinks the above quote (nice one Arglebargle :) )
sums up why...

Yes, thanks :)

Any reason why sometimes a synth (doesn't matter which one) cuts out for a while?

I gave my copy away to a nephew I didn't like very much

I demo'd a bunch of DAWs before deciding on Studio One. FL was about as intuitive as learning jazz theory in Russian. Mr. Spock may have been able to get it, but not me.

It's not difficult to use, but I'm finding (and this is a tired old story spanning the years) things don't always work like they should :hihi:

I fall for it about every year, it's like "hey, I own it, lemme try it!"

Still, I'm not giving up yet this time! I want to get something out of it!

Yes! But it's us, not the DAWs in general. :hihi:

The right-click business is FL's schtick though :o

Changing this behaviour would lead to riots

Plus it's not that dangerous: edit, undo. Or even simpler: ctrl & Z. Deleting things permanently always has a popup; "Are you sure you want to delete? No undo", etc ;)
