NUSofting vs PARADOX

Some products and developers are so full of crap that their products deserve to be cracked. I'm actually glad Paradox and others are around. They help to even the score for the person who was duped in to buying crap from one of these developers. For honest developers who don't release buggy software, or software which has copy protection that is so intrusive that the user would rather uninstall it just to not be bothered by it, I sympathize with you. But to the rest of them, I hope Paradox will continue their good work on behalf of all of us who've been scammed by you.

Liqih, that stinks man.
ttoz, are you really that blinkered? There a loads of peeps that test cracks then buy.
Retail outlets let you buy things and take them back if they are not right. A clothes shop doesn't show you a photo of what you may look like in that top or let you take it home but without the sleeves!!
The nature of software means licences aren't refundable. Some people REALLY need convincing to spend their hard earned on a product.
I get an email once a month from someone, somewhere. I have no idea how they got my address (possibly forum details) but they offer nearly every audio and art package/suite/program/plug in there is on a disc with manuals. Even offering buy 5 for $100!!! I have forwarded to developers in the past but I wouldn't think they can track them down or even do anything?
I wish I had an answer for developers but I don't.
Every time a post like this appears most the peeps at KVR get behind the developers but then in the next breath the slag them off in a 'Copy Protection' post. I have no problem with any method of copy protection (although I haven't used pace yet!!).
Is the answer stricter protection? Better more flexible demos? Refundable deposits on demo?
I don't know. Piracey won't go away, hell, nearly everyone here has a film on a VHS tape that they taped off the TV.
But that's alight though, isn't it???
Peace out

Well have a look at this thread:
http://www.kvr-vst.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40359
I can assure you this is not an isolated case. I actually get a lot of similar requests, disguised as support requests; each of them consumes time, because telling a potential legitimate user: "f**k off, you crack user" isn't the way to do business. And the more time I spend on stuff like that, the less I have for developing new stuff. Just a thought for the people out there who want to discuss how cracks are beneficial to the industry.
So, yeah, liqih, cracks are a pain in the ass. But sadly, we have to live with it.

f**k right off, you ignorant twat. I am a programmer, and any programmer knows that it is IMPOSSIBLE(understand?!) to have software that is totally 100% free of any bugs or errors. Most developers try their best to make their software as good as it can be.TeeLangSun wrote:Some products and developers are so full of crap that their products deserve to be cracked. By your logic, if there was a car that was not quite up to your exacting standards, then it would be OK for someone to steal it from the showroom and give it to you for nothing. You're just another lazy c**t who wants something for nothing.
No-one "dupes" people into buying software, if you get your credit card out and buy something, its your decision and no-one elses. If you can't accept personal responsibility for your actions, then you're a f**king idiot.
To all decent folks out there - i apologise for this rant, but as a coder it really pisses me off that some people seem to think that, because something is software, they have all sorts of extra rights that don't apply to "hard" goods. They don't.
Rant over - nice quincy back

No, not really. For each tape and cd sold to private persons the swedish music and movie industry gets some money (each empty tape and cd that is). Cassette fee it's called here.Interesting. Does Sweden's music industry blame this for any loss of sales?

Well. You pay this fee if you buy a cd to burn your own photographs on as well, so it has it's drawbacks.stefancrs wrote:

hey friends thanks for the support,
but I didn't want start a copy of past threads about warez,
the top post was really meant, as much as possible of course, as a message to those warez users who after evaluating a craked software, decide to keep using it for their production, BUT NOT to buy a legal licence, even though they could afford it.
The message was to those selfish smart users.
Actually the title: NUSofting vs PARADOX
is a bit misleading, as I blame the "smart" warez user and not the cracking crew.

Such a tax exists in most European countries when you buy a tape, VHS tape or CD-R. This is an interesting way for sure, but it also means that when you buy Cd-rs to burn your own music or personal data on , you are giving money to a record industry consortium.stefancrs wrote:No, not really. Knowing that the tax money is redistributed according to a pro-rata based upon the actual sales of the artists who belong to these records associations, it means that a portion of the price you pay to put your onw music on a record goes to people like Birtney spears or any other crappy bullshit national singer/producer.
I know that the tax fee is pretty small in most cases, and compensated by the reduction of their own margins by the Cd/tape manufacturers.... but still, it's a pretty surprising logic...don't you think?

The warez debate is really boring. there is no "right" and "wrong" opinion on this; there are positives *and* negatives for the use of pirated software.
I will say this tho:
in the case of small developers, who charge *very* reasonable prices for their software and are competing against software industry giants, its very sad that they are targeted by cracking groups.
so i hope things are looking up man

I'm not having a go, but there aren't many positives for the developer when people use cracked software. I think the sad reality is that most cracked software users won't ever buy a copy, they'd rather keep it for free. I understand that, but its still theft from the developer.
Anyway, i too hope things get better someday
