Not sure what plugs you used, possibly one of them adding an inaudible low freq to one channel... I've seen a handful of things do this: at least one of the TAL Synths, some other synths and free filters.satYatunes wrote:My dear fellow OSCers, I need your help. Please see my other thread and let me know if I it's even an issue. If it is then how should I fix it. I have only a few hours left..

hmmm.. that's interesting. How do I pinpoint the culprit? Is there any method to find and fix this.

Sorry i didn't tell you before, yesterday i was all day preparing my flat rooms, i will move to another flat this week.
Mastering is a beautiful asiggnment to learn about, isn't it?
The correlation meter indicates the degree of similarity (or correlation) between the left and right channels.
·When the audio in both channels are similar, the line goes between 0 and +1 (not top).
·The extreme case is when both channels are exactly the same, so the correlation is +1 and the meter would be positioned all the way to the +1.
·When both channels are different, the line draws towards the bottom.
·The extreme case would be for both channels to be completelly out of phase, so the correlation is -1 and the line would be positioned all the way to -1.
Generally, most stereo tracks have phase correlations between 0 to +1 region.
A brief readout towards the 'negative half' of the meter is not necessarily a problem but it could represent a possible mono compatibility issue.
Note: As you apply greater multiband stereo widening or reverb width to your audio, the phase correlation line will tend to draw more towards the 'negative half', as both channels will be "wider" or asymmetrical.
So you don't need to change anything, all is correct
While you don't have the line/square in the middle or in the top right or top left, all goes under normal circumstances.
Have a good day

wow, that's an excellent explanation Irion. Thank a lot. Moving is painful but at times you just need a change. Happy moving.
z.prime, that Low Freq thing is called DC offset.. right? I read somewhere on how to prevent that, now I gotta find that article. I will try the mute/unmute method. Thanks.
I am feeling guilty cause I discussed something in this thread which may not be relevant to OSC. Even though I got the best explanation here itself. My apology to all fellow OSCers.

Not at all, this thread is even for gossip as stated in the title, audio tech is way more relevant than 'gossip' anyway.

I've said it before, one synth challenge is hard!!! Especially when Live won't recognize retroloque and the presets are nowhere to be found.
Anyway
recorded in Tracktion3
14 instances of Retroloque
Kjaerhus Classic Limiter, Compressor, Reverb
Tracktion3 4 band EQ
Dynamic Range 13

Sadly i think i won't be able to participate this month neither.
I have a clubbin' track almost finished, but i can't find the time this month to finish it completelly.
And i don't like to make a quick thing.
So, i will come the next month then.
It is a shame!

Anyway i will come to vote and listening your marvellous tracks, that's for sure.
Have a good day guys

I'm not a pro with dance-clubbin-minimal whatever is it as you are (for instance)jasinski wrote:Just post up a preview at least- love to hear it!
I'm just learning this new kind of music now due i have a friend who is DJ, and he is, somehow, a fan of my music (lol), so i'm trying to make tracks for him.
Mostly a dark Techno-Minimal from old times or something. I really dislike to tag music.
Here goes a little part of it. The beginning was killed, and the last part too, it is really difficult to me to develop the whole "Release part" of a clubbin track.
Irion Da Ronin - Retrospekter [Demo]
(Forbidden to laugh lol)
Due i'm always learning new things, in this one i was trying how to place the sound in a second place (background) with a reverb.
You all know that the sound in a mix must be separated in 3 dimensions.
Frecuencies plus Loudness (Lows, Middles and Highs or Soft, Average and Loud)
Stereo and Mid Side [Left (Side), Center (Mid) and Right (Side)]
Perceived Space (Front and Rear) <--- Nothing in common with 5.1 or Surround. Just the perceived 3D in the stereo, playing with reverb and reflections.
So the sound can be played virtually in a 3D box.
I just used FL Reverb 2, but still i wasn't enough satisfied with the results.
Have a good day

Iron. I really like that bassline! You have a good sense for when to take the breakdown. I really love the synth melodies you put in there too. Good sound and good haunting sense to the phrase. You may feel self-conscious about it but it's great! You should do more of this style!

Hi guys,
Here is a (very incomplete) preview of something truly retro
My main goal this month was to experiment with synthesizing the classic blues/rock sounds using Retrologue. Let me know what you think.
