Sonar supports rx2 files natively, you just drag them into the sequencer. they act as groove clips and you can edit per slice envelopes etc... the RXP player is still there too, but Dr. Octorex still kills for Rex file playback, that's why I will still rewire in occasionally. you can drag rx2 files into the matrix for live style arranging too.

It used to not support x64 rex though. I'm sure that is fixed now. (better be!)

The only way i would know to test rewire is if you are willing to download ableton live or reason demos and slave them to sonar.

Chuck a few synths on, and see if sonar's little multiple core display puts them evenly or stacks them on one.. (like logic does :(
ttoz I'm not sure if X2 supports rx2 format for audio. CW released a special CW-only plugin for handling rex support which is decent, but non-native rx2 support for me is a deal killer as I have so much time and money invested in that format. Just a heads up, make sure before you pull the X2 trigger if you're at all like I am about depending on rx2 being a reason owner.
As of X1 Sonar supports rx2 import to project, also drag and drop from the browser. there is no need for a VST to use those files. :)

Also Session Drummer 3 supports that format along with Beatscape.
+1. RX2 support is native. I have never used RXP the Rex player plugin. It can slice up your rex files though which can be rearranged/played through MIDI.

Not sure if I understand right. You mean Sonar 64 bit does't support REX files? X1 64 bit does.. half of the included loops are in rx2 format.

Sorry, not being clear. When I first got X1, rex files were not supported in x64. I'm assuming it's been implemented for a while now (but I haven't had x1 installed for some time, so wasn't 100% sure)

Now I know :)

But Rapture isn't seeing -- or rather, completely seeing -- expansion add-ons, of which I have many. Some Cakewalk, some third party like Galbanum.

What it doesn't "get" with some presets -- like sequences or fancier morphs -- is where to find some additional .sfz, .wav, or waveform data. I've installed according to instructions, but there's some missing 'art' here of placing these files. But where? Trial and error ain't working, and neither is what Cakewalk suggests, which is to pull up the preset browser window and hit F5.

Everything was working fine in X1, but yes, I uninstalled the damn thing to make room for X2.

Ideas? I'm asking here because Cakewalk ain't swift on customer service questions.

fn<x>
bump - someone must have a clue?

To add to this snafu, there's now a problem registering Dimension Pro 1.5: says my code is incorrect, when it damned well isn't when I check it against my account.

Have you tried press F5 with the focus on the Browser(mouse hovering on) in Rapture to refresh the list. Also make sure your rapture programs are all in the same folder.Check to see you don't have 2 separate folders i.e to separate installations.

check the cake forums, others are having the same/similar issues

The Browser/F5 thing hasn't worked. Two separate installs? Let me see if I can figure out what's going on in that regard.

Thanks. I'll take a look. Are any of 'em solving it <g>?

you never asked if they solved it!! :x  good luck!

I've been on hold for ten minutes -- and twice there's been a message to say "the estimated hold time is two minutes".

These people are pretty clueless about customer service. Oh, and the background tape was recorded in 1959 on a reel-to-real, I'd guess.

Aha, just got a human, and got an answer on the REG question. "Run as Admin" is the magic phrase, and indeed, we are now rocking.

Next ... the hunt for the correct folders issue. I lknow I've experienced this once before, but if anyone has an instant answer, let me know!

UPDATE: solved a proportion of the folders issue. Postponing the rest to a maintenance downtime.

Now to RTFM: yes, I know, shoulda done that first...

I had same problem with Dim Pro registration on Win 7 64 bit. Running it as Admin solved it. Also, when I installed the expansion pack 1-2-3 it installed them to root i.e. C:\ which is wrong and it's a known issue. I just moved them to the correct folder and it showed up in the browser.

Hope things work out for you funkychickendance. :?
