-Seperate Filter & Amp ADSR
-Seperate Filter & Amp Velo sens settings *important!*
-LFO Sync
-Different LFO shapes
-Different Filter types
-Pitch env offset listed in semitones
-Simple limiter on output stage
-Tape Delay 'degrade' setting more noisy and random
-Master volume slider - useful for automating the volume of the entire preset.

As for the velo sens, its very hard to set up a proper filter sweep etc. when velocity is constantly interfering with the filter freq. And if you turn velocity off, its quite hard to get that element to blend with other elements that use velo sens.

I know some of these probably won't happen, for performance or UI reasons. But maybe for EVE 2 at least?

-Seperate Filter & Amp ADSR

not soon

-Seperate Filter & Amp Velo sens settings *important!*

ok, I'll see how to improve that

-LFO Sync
-Different LFO shapes

not soon

-Different Filter types

I plan to add HP too

-Pitch env offset listed in semitones

yes

-Simple limiter on output stage

almost ready

-Tape Delay 'degrade' setting more noisy and random

ok

-Master volume slider - useful for automating the volume of the entire preset.

can't be done by automating host mixer?

Thats great news liqih! Looking forward to the EVE update.

Yes it can. I guess its more of a host issue than anything - I'd like to use midi automation for volume sometimes because Tracktion's vst automation is troublesome. ATM you have to automate each element's volume seperately with midi. Still, not a large issue and one I can certainly work around :)

how about a link button for the l/r delay lines?

I too agree about the degrade- it needs to be more degraded.

I think that a different cutoff/resonance control is very important.

Also a master volume is very necessary.

I think EVE is a synth with a big potential, I hope it will be improved over the time.

Saludos.

Bingo! :)

absolutely! it drives me nuts that i dont have independant cutoff and resonance controls for the filters.
-Seperate Filter & Amp ADSR
agreed.

i whole heartedly agree with this suggestion too.

imho, nothing kills the long term usefulness of a rompler more severely than not providing proper filter controls. this has been my one big disappointment with eve.

YESS!

seems to be a few issues with the filter implementation in EVE. I was reluctant to add my voice to these, as WilliamK wrote a while back that it was not straight forward to add more filter functionality- it would double the CPU load or something. I love EVE as it is, especially with these new soundsets on the horizon, but I too must say that a REAL filter would really help make EVE better.

With the apparent restrictions in mind, I wonder if it would it be possible to have one fully featured global filter, and keep the 3 independent filters as they are with reduced functionality?

1 global filter would be of limited usefulness when creating combi-like sounds, I guess it could be useful for simpler ones. I'd still prefer upgraded filters for EVE, even if it means a cpu hit. Of course, all the old presets wouldn't use the new features so they would be at the same cpu usage as before. New sounds using the complex filter features would take more cpu.

Another useful feature would be a pre-delay for the envelopes, and/or the lfos. With a pre-delay, you could add in an element without it fading in using long attack times. And with a pre-delay on lfo's, you could create sounds that are static for the first little xxxx ms, then start moving in the stereo field, or begin vibrato or tremolo effects.

unless I missed it- is there an arrow or button just to cycle through the presets on the front of EVE?

Ive been having to click on the EVE box, scroll down to presets, and then find the prest just below the last one checked... Got to be an easier way...

Post

Hi Spikey,
left click on a, b or c.

A right click to scroll backwards would be a good addtional function too.

I think that that is host dependent. Which host are you using with Eve?

Adding filters to EVE would be awsome. But they should have on/off switches or something. EVE is sooo CPU friendly, I'd hate for it to turn into a CPU hogg. It would be un-usable. Thats why I dont use soundfonts with Crystal.

*stop!!!!* :o :o

think for a minute

let's not just add all the standard features from all the other synths you own.

what makes eve so good ? eve is simple. it has a good functional gui. you can create excellent new sounds very fast.

let's not layer masses of extra controls on top. what happens then ? another page of gui controls ? suddenly you can no longer make new sounds so fast. suddenly you are programming sounds in exactly the same way as every other synth. and the cpu load goes up.

no no no !!! these sorts of synths and romplers are everywhere !

think what make eve such an exceptional instrument before making these very predictable requests.

let's have some deep thought on soundsets. that is where the strength of eve really is. soundsets are the key to making eve better and different to all the other instruments.

no other instrument has the soundset concept so beautfully worked out. there is amazing potential for some innovation here.

how about three layers of the same sound, but each sound is filtered differently ? or perhaps with LFO sweeps which will interact with each other for interesting wave-level interaction ?

there are many, many ways to develop eve without resorting to simple lfo & envelope requests.

*please* think deeply on this issue before de-evolving eve
