From time to time i suffer from demonoise in MUX. This is even though i, multiple times, have entered user key and tripplechecked the MainSetup.txt to see that the key is there - with brackets.
Im scratching my head hard trying to figure out why this happens.

Through testing, disabling and muting vst's and mux's im 100% sure the noise comes from Mux.

I have mux installed in my vst folder .. should i give it a proper c:/program... ?

Is there anything i can do to test for any errors? Can i somehow see if the registration worked?

Edit: I've had this happen in both mulab and maschine

This is the first time i hear something like this, but will do some extra tests.
Do you have any more details about when this happens?

It can be installed anywhere on your system.

I'll add such way. A new MUX Vst will be released soon, also including some other improvements.

Was it when upgrading to latest version? Have you tried to register it again?
Is the serial in the MainSetup.txt? (it's lokated in ..\MUX\User\Settings\)

I only Purchased the license about 2-3 month ago, so its only the version that was available then, and their are no more updates i am aware off.

Also struggling as to how to check registration serial or re-register its serial number again, I cant seem to find any section to do/see this, also where will the version number be on Mux i cant find this. what i did notice is that normally on start up i kept getting those pop ups to accept the license agreement, now they have stopped, dont know if that help narrow down any info on my problem.

Thanks

Okay i found the menu to enter license , looks like it had lost my entry, so i have re-enterd the serial now, so hopefully all should be good now.

The version is 1.0.38 - 64bit.

The registration number is only visible in the MUX folder -> User/Settings/MainSetup.txt

Whether the MUX Vst is in demo mode or unlimited mode can be deducted from whether or not the demo noise is active or not.

(Re)Entering your user key can be done via the main MUX menu (top-left) -> Enter User License Key.
also where will the version number be on Mux i cant find this.
The version number is in splash screen, see main options menu (top-right) -> About MUX.

On Windows 7, it may be better not to install the MUX Plug-In folder under the 'Program Files' folder or any of its sub-folders. This is to avoid access problems caused by Windows' UAC/Virtual Store mechanisms.

Hope this helps.

Ok, I'm getting the demonoise now I'm on version 1.2. It's only happening with the effect version of MUX, and only when I insert any vst's into it. The Synth version works fine with both vsti's and vst's. Hope that helps.

Edit: I'm on WinXP 32 and using Reaper.

That's not possible because MUX.dll and MUX (Vst Synth).dll share the same setup.
and only when I insert any vst's into it.
Are you sure the demo noise is not coming from some VST plugin which is in demo mode?

Are you sure you properly inserted your permanent MUX user key? (i.e. the one you received via email)

Hello, you are right the demo noise eventually comes from the synth too, but I had to wait several minutes before it did so. Anyhow, I've think it's sorted now. I had to remove the license key before reinserting it, where as before I wasn't removing it first. I'm thinking I must have replaced my 'User' folder when installing the update  Thankfully I had nothing saved in it.

Thankyou
