A new MuLab 4.4.9 package is available in http://www.mutools.com/mulab/cedar

What's changed since M4.4.6:
  • Finetuned font graphics.
  • When there is only 1 skin, no redundant "Choose Skin" option in the menu anymore.
  • "Make Unique Sequence" is disabled when the sequence already is unique.
  • A couple of changes to the preset library.
  • Fixed a bug which could cause different kinds of problems in the 64 bit version.
  • Improved MIDI input controller support.

I don't want to be picky but there's no Mulab files in cedar.. :)

Try refreshing your browser.

Just installed it and I have to say that I love the new presets. Very inspiring synths and very well organised.

If i add an mulab instrument/effect in a track i don't get the path i set in "preferred files and folders" but the default one. If i add via a rack i do get from the right path.

I hope i explained it right :)

Which path you mean?

Post

The "UserLibraryFolderPath=H:\VST" (which is where i have all my mux patches)

When adding a instrument track, i don't see the muxes from this path (those stored in that location). I see the default ones plus some of my old ones (i think i stored some there before i realized it was at the wrong location ... but i cant find that folder no matter how much i search my harddrives )

oh now i get it .... it only shows those with only mux components! So if there's a vst in there somewhere (which there is in my case almost always), it wont show. This is the only explanation i can figure out. I see that Novachord Ingo made, one polysynth and 2 Mudrumbased muxes.
Would it make sense?

Another issue i found today: When i store templates they get stored in
C:\Program Files (x86)\MuLab\User\Library\MuSession\Templates
but those i can load from the menu are the ones from
C:\Program Files (x86)\MuLab\App\Library\MuSession\Templates

You indeed spotted a little bug. It's when using VST synths inside a MUX, then these presets indeed don't show up in the Add Instrument Track dialog list. I'm working on a fix. Coming asap. Temporary workaround: Use "Add Track" + Insert such preset in a new rack + drag-drop the rack title on the new track so to connect the track to the rack.

C:\Program Files (x86)\MuLab\User\Library\MuSession\Templates

C:\Program Files (x86)\MuLab\App\Library\MuSession\Templates
I can't repeat this. When i save a session template, and then do "Open Template" i see both the "Factory" and "User" sub-folders and the template i just saved is under "User".

It's not like that on your system?

A new MuLab 4.5.0 app patch is available in http://www.mutools.com/mulab/cedar

What's changed since M4.4.9:
  • New: Modulation Monitor
  • You can now copy-paste selections of audio files/samples directly into an oscillator.
  • Waveform -> "Open" now previews the audio files while browsing.
  • In some cases "Show Clipboard Contents" didn't show the most detailed info.
  • OSX: When doing "Move To Top-Left" for a window, the apple title bar now is taken into account.
  • Fixed a bug when using parent modulation towards the PolySynth.
  • Fixed a bug wrt using VST synths in a MUX, then such saved MUX preset was not categorized as an instrument preset.
Installation:

* Make sure you have installed M4.4.9, see start of this topic.
* Download the app patch for your platform
* Extract the new app file and copy it into your M4.4.9 folder, replacing the previous Mulab.exe / Mulab.app

Here is an example of "parent parameter modulation":

http://www.mutools.com/mulab/examples/P ... lation.mp3

If the LFO that modulates the PWM (=Saw waveform using AIPS) would be in the PolySynth, then each voice would restart its LFO. In this example a common 'global' LFO is inserted in the parent MUX and its signal is routed into the PolySynth using a modulation input. This way the PWM is common to all voices, and continues running independent from new starting notes.

The example session is here: http://www.mutools.com/mulab/examples/P ... lation.zip

It took me a while to understand what you meant but got it now! I didn't know an LFO inside polysynth automatically would reset for each new note but this would be a way to overcome this if you wanted it to run freely. Did i understand it..? :)

Post

Yes that's it. And such 'global' LFO is common to all voices.

Of course this method can also be used for any other modulation source, eg a Multi-Point Envelope etc, and it can be applied to any modulatable parameter. (or combi of modulatable parameters)

When i save a new project, the title at top left still says "New : Unnamed Composition". If i check "open recent", the file i saved is there with the name i picked.
If i click "Save" it saves, not getting asked to save as a new file.

Miiiiinor issue  Only springs some paranoia that im working on something that isn't saved and if hell breaks loose ...... best to have things saved :)

I forgot to mention this yesterday when i noticed it. When saving new muxes they end up on the "Choose Instrument" when adding a track but the ones i had made prior to 4.5 are not there. I suppose there's some file i should delete or do something to reset ... but i can't remember what it was

Looks like this one's the same issue?
