Hey guys !

Here's a product idea, based on my thoughts.

It's no secret to anyone that Sascha has massive knowledge regarding analog modeling, and is an expert on compression, limiting, saturation, transient enhancements and the likes...

Considering that, it would be cool if, together with its partners in crime at u-he, come up with some kind of mastering tool.

What about an all-tube Mastering Rack, featuring :
- an EQ section with smooth filters
- a kind of vari-mu compressor
- a saturation module, featuring control over 2nd and 3rd harmonics enhancements
- a stereo tool
- a limiter/clipper with transient enhancements

Just my thought, but based on his work for MAGIX, on the superb ammunition and Tube Stage plugins, I'm sure it would be worth it !

What do you guys think ?

I think Zebra needs good distortion module.

Great idea!
It is definitely interesting how far DIVA's algorithms and Sascha's expertise will take mixing and mastering plugins.

mixing or mastering i don t see a border, good plugs are welcom and will be used for both.

I call it "mixtering" :hihi:

Yes.
Great! :hyper:

I just hope it wouldn't be "guitar amp" or whatever module (it always possible to use external plugin/hardware for that), but usual saturation/distortion module with various soft/hard/foldback/mirroring/sine/stepping/fuzz curves (e.g. like in you-know-which synth) for common bread-and-butter sound design cases.

Or maybe custom vector curve (like geomorph (edit: was geoblend)) distortion module would be handy...

My dream distortion would be a waveshaper with the same editing functions and morphing as the wavetable oscillators, only instead of a morphing waveform you're editing and modulating, it's a transfer curve.

Yes, I meant the similar thing (there was mistype, I meant geomorph, not geoblend). Althought even without animation it would be handy. But of course with animation it would create beautiful soundscapes and scary screams.
