How about a list of compared programs remembered per project. It doesn't put a program on the list unless you push the A/B button. Or perhaps when you do, it stores the original program as part of the new program. Maybe such a feaure could be seen as an unexpected way to have additional copies of favorite patches, since they may more often be the source of inspiration.Urs wrote:Yeah, that's one thing we want to tackle but where we haven't found the "groundbreakingness" in concept that motivates us to push it through. We just discussed that recently, I should bring it up again.andow wrote:Some kind of A/B comparison between two sounds would be really helpful!
For example: if I am looking for a sound, browsing the presets and find something that I like, I usually edit it to suit my needs. Then if I go on browsing to see if I can find a better sound, I loose all the adjustments I did to the first sound. So it would be really cool if there was an A/B button to load the first sound to A and the second to B and see which one fits the track better. Or maybe just two variations of the same sound to compare them...
I hope you get my weird explanation...

Maybe a couple of preset views (like a list and a details view) or personally, I prefer to see less presets (and scroll) and more information about presets, rather than tons of preset names on a page.Urs wrote:Hey Dennis,
Sure, I've been thinking about that too. The information can even be extracted automatically from the patch itself. Maybe.
No promises though, we have a very tough schedule

Right on! And we thank you and your team for this.Urs wrote:At least you can't blame us for selling the same thing over and over in just a new design. The product range is based on very thoughtful consideration.
AND you make sure that if something is feasible, it gets around to the different plugins, which is also VERY cool.
Thanks again!

Some news...
I think we've tackled the remaining note hangers in Zebra. Hammering a keyboard while flipping through presets did not let me reproduce any.
We'll be uploading a fresh beta shortly.
Then we hope to release Zebra 2.5.4 by the end of this week.
Cheers,
Urs

question: are these note hangers new to 2.5.3/2.5.4 beta or were they also in 2.5.2?
Thanks,
Mario

The were also in 2.5.2 - under unfortunate circumstances when switching a preset while relasing a note on the keyboard, with a chance of, say, 1:100 or so one could get a note hanger. it wouldn't happen if one just held notes or if one released all notes prior to switching a preset.mabian wrote:question: are these note hangers new to 2.5.3/2.5.4 beta or were they also in 2.5.2?

Idea for Zebra morphing
Rather than morphing between different presets, it would morph between the preset + a variation of itself.
Pushing a 'morph' gives you a second, editable version of the preset in which the modules are locked. You can adjust whatever parameters are technically possible to morph to/from.
When you're done editing, it switches back and you can resume editing the initial sound. Morphing can be done via 1 knob which can be 'zoomed' into to edit min/max values.
If values are changed on the initial preset, minimum start points for morphing are automatically updated.

So, sorry if you've already addressed this but what do you think about a few simple enhancements to DIVA:
- An extra envelope
- I'd love to be able to run two effects in parallel rather than series.

Urs,
didn't you mention some months ago a possible new Diva quality setting, better than Divine with almost the same CPU usage (or almost as good as Divine with much less CPU usage, can't remember) ?
Cheers !

Sorry, that was a hoax. Clemens thought he found some "magic mode", but then it turned out to be much like Draft mode at the expense of Divine.nilhartman wrote:Urs,

Hi Urs,
as pointed out in this thread:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... sc&start=0
it would be great, if upcoming versions of Zebra would include some options in dealing with the waveforms like this was handled in old hardware synths like the Prophet VS (or the PPG Wave).
In the mentioned thread there is a very interesting quote (posted by Jupiter8)...
(i think Zebra is probably the more appropriate platform for implementing such retro digital technologies than DIVA...)

This is what's possible using Zebra in NI Kore 2 - for obvious reasons it is impossible to morph between different patches with different structures but it is possible in Kore to save 8 variations of various positions within the same patch, and morph smoothly between those. I published my Zebrakore remix bank based on factory patches and selected publicly available patches (with permission of developers) with 7 additional variations per patch and morphing set up.djashes wrote:Idea for Zebra morphing
