Problems with MIDI control of Preset choice in Turnado.

I am sending program changes to Turnado, and it seems to intermittently stop displaying the name of the new preset, although the preset is changing. I've recently upgraded to 1.1.1, and the problem persists.
Thanks,
Don

My additional problem with Preset changes is that the Presets stop responding altogether to preset change by MIDI! It seems to go away with re-instantiation, but comes back.

What would be nice would also be a "global channel" for the AU plugin preset change by MIDI, and individual 8 devices/channels allowing independent patch changes for each effect.

If possible, it would be nice to have the currently active preset name fed to the "name preset" box when one goes to save the preset, since I am often making incremental variations of a patch.

I am not sure i understand your problems.
>stop displaying the name of the new preset
You mean inside the turnado gui or in the LogicAU Header ?
For me the preset name changes inside the Turnado GUI
>Presets stop responding altogether to preset change by MIDI
When ? after a previouse change by MIDI ? Note that prgChange can only be done if there are enough Presets in the MidiPgrogram folder. If you send prgChane #50 and there are only 40 presets inside nothing will happen.
>allowing independent patch changes for each effect.
I am thinking about that. It's maybe possible with different MIDI channels.
>preset name fed to the "name preset"
I'll see whether this is possible.

Thanks for getting back to me.
I have saved several presets in the MIDI presets folder. They are responding, and then they will stop. The earlier problem of preset changing but "name" not changing referred to the Preset name in the top center of Turnado. I am running AU Turnado as a plugin.
I am sending the same presets that have been changing successfully, and then at some random point, Turnado stops responding. As far as I can see, the patch change command is coming through: I am using Plogue Bidule as a host, which has a monitor which displays MIDI patch change messages continuing to come through, and an external software sequencer transmitting the changes. Other MIDI messages are continuing to arrive, but Preset change seems to stop. The only way to get it back is to re-load Turnado. Then it is fine for a while.
Thanks,
Don

Just create a folder 'MIDI Programs' beside the other preset folder in documents/Sugar Bytes/Turnado/Global Presets/

What is the bank, sub-bank, program structure? I am trying to change the program with an Ableton dummy clip...
I have 3 presets in the MIDI programs folder now, but I cant seem to scroll through them with program change messages.
I can see that the messages are getting to Thesys, as I have another MIDI track receiving MIDI from Thesys and i can see midi activity arriving at that track each time I scroll through the bank/program dropdown in the clip note settings.
I have the ignore program change button disabled in 'About Thesys'.
Cheers :)

You should see the MIDI Programs folder in the preset menu.
As i said the folder has to be inside the 'Global Presets' folder.
If you only have 3 presets there you should make sure to only send Prg Change with a value between 1-3 obviously.

Hi,
Yes it's in the Global Presets folder, and I can see it in the presets dropdown.
But I can't do a MIDI program change.
What is the bank, sub-bank info for this folder? I am only sending program changes numbering 1,2 and 3. I'm not trying to load program 30.
Please could you detail the process, step by step, as if you were doing it yourself?
Thanks :)

Sorry my fault, you have to name the folder: 'Midi Programs'
You have to restart Thesys after renaming.
You also have to restart after you changed any file in this folder.
There is no bank or subbank setting needed in Live.
I just made a quick video showing that it's working.
